I think it's real. Guy is already expecting a deposit check coming from fedex today. Gotta be someone here. I was viewer #2 after Weissach posted it ~10 min before I clicked on his link at 10P eastern time.
Can't wait to see the introduction

Failed to get more than $4500 on BaT last week and missed reserve. Bought as a packaged deal for $6k total with another '84 US model ~6 months ago. I would've been interested if not for the burgundy interior or the black side strip. Apparently AC is refreshed, along with TB/WP before going on BaT.

I remember this now that you bring it up. Something seemed familiar about it.
Was for sale in 2008 with 76k miles for $31,900 asking ( North Carolina)
1991 928 GT: Metallic Black/Cashmere. VIN# WP0AA2926MS810261. Second owner for the past 4 years of this won- derful ride. Bought completely stock in great condition and only made better from there. This car has been driven only in dry conditions and several DEs...always garaged. Mechanically perfect, body in great shape, great for the street and track. Xpipe, RMB, Koni/Hypercoil suspension, Cross-drilled rotors, new interior carpet, new front leather, major service 500 mi. ago. Have all original parts, 16, 17, 18 wheels, two racing seats w/harness. 76K miles...$31,900.
EDIT: Several people have contacted me about the car. I was going to post after Frenzy, but thought I should let folks know it's for sale in advance in case they wanted to see it at Frenzy. Silly me... I'm leading the Frenzy Fun Run, so the keys to the car aren't available until after Frenzy.
Selling my S4. It had a new water pump, timing belt, rollers, rebuilt tensioner in 2013. I've done several other big jobs, including replace the OPG and motor mounts, transmission mounts, HVAC pod actuators, new higher output HVAC blower, brake master cylinder, and I have a few more parts to go in (Greg's fuel hoses, etc.). Odometer just is just about to pass 93,000. Starts and runs well. Auto transmission, new ATF and filter, ATF pan gasket, no shifting problems. Crank end play still factory spec...measured once a year with dial gauge. No driveshaft spline movement. Original factory intake and cam cover paint with no pealing. $17,500.

Big red flags! Porsche for oxy scripts? I hope not. Probably doing home visits for an elderly patient who no longer can afford them but insisted on paying the doc. Hope so.
Keep us informed!

I think everything is legit, so far as the title is concerned. The guy selling it for his doctor friend is alright. The doctor did not get the car through a lawsuit - the patient offered it up. The guy has seen the title, and it's in the doctor's name.
The car drove pretty well. Engine strong, shifted nicely. The steering felt a little odd to me - reluctant to turn in, something like that - alignment? The brakes showed signs of having sat for awhile. No mechanical faults otherwise, felt or seen. I looked in the vent hole for the timing belt. The passenger side was steady, though close to the forward edge of the gear. The driver side wandered a small amount. I could see the label pass by - does that mean it's not ancient? Assume there are no records for this car. (Quotes are from early July)
Exhaust looked ok, but was kinda rumbly. Some might like it this way.
Spoiler, front and rear belly pans were all there and intact. On the other hand, no jump post cover! No oily mess anywhere that I could see (didn't jack up the car, so underneath was not examined much if at all).
Cruise control worked! Dash instruments all inop except voltmeter. The guy said they were working until he took it to the shop for the fuel pump. The shop he took it to is a good shop (R&D in Albany).
Quite a few cracks in the dashboard. Not chasms, just cracks. One in the pod. Seats are that nasty orange, with dark creases, and some moderate distress at the critical sliding-*** location. Carpet reasonable.
Wheels might clean up with scotchbrite. No streaks. Tires have rubber, but didn't check the date code.
Pretty sure it's a repaint. Buffing might get it nice, but it seems a little uneven. Some crazing on the sunroof. Some trim pieces missing around windows. Wing has a rough surface in places; don't know if these can be sanded smooth. Wiper is missing.
Front and rear bumpers have been kissed enough to show crazing.
AC is inop.
Summary: cosmetics not great, not horrible, some guys might be fine with it given the price. Mechanically, TB/WP is almost certainly needed, and the other standard procedures would be desireable. A good project car for someone who'd be happy to do that work. Not a good car to bring up to show quality, but decent.
Assuming the thrust bearing is OK, the car is worth $8K.
Didn't fall in love with it, myself, and I have other projects. I release my dibs! The guy said he's had 12 calls on it.
I have photos I'll process later, if there's interest.

Hey Nate, I'm just taking some pressure of you (look I suggested the car is not worth asking price!) in case someone involved in the 5th party sale (patients/Doctors, friends/agent) happens to be listening. Nate, personally I enjoy your observations. In fact, I reached out to you by PM this January and we corresponded by e-mail and PM on which of the two 91 GT's to buy, so imo, you are an expert.

HEY new member here, after seeing this thread I had to join-that is the car in my garage right now!-I have to say this is a decent S4, with a excellent history once you researched it. Looks a lot better with some TLC given to it over the past month, and everything works now-except AC will get it there though! No games or tricks -legit sale as well!

If your asking about the 91 GT, it's probably the best "drivers" 928. Rarer than the GTS's, with more power too. Prices usually reflect this, I don't think seller realized what he had(or maybe was in need off $$ seriously fast). That 91 GT would sell for over $35k. The GT's sell in days, unlike GTS's which linger on the market for months or years.

This GT was at SITM this past June. Steve's car was nice. He drives it everywhere. Has a few miles but..... Just saw it in a picture at Sharks to Hell this past weekend. He knew what he had. Most of the GTS you see are overly priced by some of these dealers you find on the Internet. I love my '90 GT which I got in April. 5 speed more fun than my other two automatics.

Shawn, besides being a GT, his car came from the factory with GTS rear fender flares. I think he said it was the Show car at the annual car show in NY OR Chicago prior to the release of the GTS. Very unique!
