QA - Black leather/leatherette interior
Seems unlikely but I guess it is possible that someone change the interior, door cards, etc to match the linen carpet?
Doors, hatch and hood VIN stickers all match WP0JB0927JS860261

60,100 miles

Just took over my mom's (at 81, she doesn't drive it much anymore) 1989 928. Was able to drive it from Tulsa, OK to San Diego, CA over 26 hours without much trouble.

I have a source that tells me it is a GT but the Rennlist VIN decoder says it is an S4. Thoughts?

Appreciate any information you might be able to send my way. The options sticker is long gone

Thanks,
Barry

I'm sure Rob will verify, but if it's a 5sp (and by the rear muffler it is), then the VIN suggests it is a GT.
The engine code should be M28/47
Rarest of the bunch.
Congrats!!!

Congrats Barry and welcome to the 928 family (though I guess you already were a member…) - lovely color!

The one I own was also advertised as “S4” (most VIN decoders will report that). My “tell tales” were the 6,600RPM redline (S4 is 6,400 if I recall) and the numbered scale on the temp gauge (S4 only has the lines, no numbers).

Also, it looks like GTS mirrors have been added, the original Club Sport rims have been replaced by later Design 90's and it looks to be lowered.
