000000 - No engine code but should be M28.13 engine serial # range 810 0001 >5000

G00000 - Not sure whether it's a G28.03 or G28.05, please report back on what the code and serial number are on the transmission case

M197 - Stronger battery (88 Ah)- Norway, Finland, Denmark, Canada, Sweden

M261 - Outside mirror - plain-passenger's side, electrically adjustable and heatable

Ruffled leather wasn't available for a 1987 MY, if I'm correct. It's a 1990 novelty, if I remember correctly.

In doubt, regular leather seat have perforated leather in the center, ruffled leather is non perforated.

Ruffled leather wasn't available for a 1987 MY, if I'm correct.
Correct, the first instance was in 1988, in 213 US market and 313 ROW cars, out of a total of 4342 worldwide production.
