if its a genuine UK car, must be a rare option to have rear A/C

Do you know when it was produced/delivered?
I would bet June/July 1992 because that's a preproduction car.
Which commercial partner code and commission number?

Relatively late in the 'pre-production' season, I guess because sales were so slow. (if you look at 00641 cars from '88-91, they were typically produced the 1st week of May), Production date was 8/27/92, invoice date 8/28/92, and warranty was activated on 8/30/92. Trading partner 1001030, commission number 049P.

I see things a little differently. A 0-serie car is used to test how the production process will work with the novelties of a new Model-Year. In this case, I think it was used to be sure that the new AC will be compatible with the rear AC on a RHD car. No big deal but you have to be sure.

1001030 is Porsche factory and this is the 49th commission of the 1993 MY for this partner.
It is still unclear what the difference is between 1001010, 1001020,1001030 and 1001040.

Given that I am totally unencumbered by evidence for the things I'm guessing about here, you're probably right.

thanks for the information Rob, it is for sale on ebay at the moment, and was wondering about the rear A/C.
does seem a strange colour scheme, midnight blue paint, with a Magenta interior, Magenta front seats with the cussion sections in cream leather and rear seats also cream colour
certainly not ordered by a customer
and thanks Samuel, sadly not enough room at home for a 4th 928
cheers
Phil

You have an error in the 10th digit of this VIN, which unfortunately is the critical digit that identifies the year of the car. Could be anything between B and L. Check the VIN again and report back!

Thx Rob. The title says Z but it also states its a 1983 928. Pls replace the 10th digit with a D which I believe would indicate an 83. I'm working with a seller who has this car but the car is located a few miles away. I wanted to make sure it is a 928S Euro before asking him to go take pictures of it including the vin and engine number. The car has no sunroof, 5 spd and I think is a 928S Thx for all your help
