Hi all! Trying to get more info on option group M11 ($2465) from my window sticker along with what was in the competition group for $1900 aside from the rear spoiler. Hard to find concrete info on this and nothing on the M11 option package. Thank you!!

RE: the M471 competition group, I have never seen a definitive listing, though Porsche's own 1980 US 928 brochure lists: front and rear spoilers, manhole cover wheels with 225 tires, and 'S' brakes. The December 1980 Car and Driver lists: 16" manholes, rear spoiler, front air dam, bilstein shocks, manual sport seats, 3 spoke steering wheel, no rubstrips, and a contemporaneous R&T article lists front and rear spoilers, phone dials with P7s or Goodyear NCT 225/50VR16s, sport shocks, 3-spoke wheel, and sport seats. So it's not 100% settled AFAIK.
RE: the M11 option package, never seen or heard of that before. The old PET options data for this VIN lists only the above options, there's no mention of M11. (Maybe the Illinois distributor of VW of America just tacked on a fake option package to soak the buyer out of $2465? )

Thanks Rob ! Interesting to hear about the wheels. The car has been in the same family since 1981 and supposedly has been on the same manhole cover wheels since, so they may have had the dealer switch those when they bought it.
