silly Sean.... didn't you know that the 928 forum is the kibort thread collection? That is why the 928 forum is the most active forum.

i think guys in the ferarri challenge series would disagree.
Yes, and look what got me on the tangents.
anyway, lets hear more about the new cranks and the problems they solve.
However, i do think that analysing sucess in areas of the problems we are try ing to solve has a lot of value. remove the bashing from BC, and its not a bad thread. look at his MULTIPLE worthless, insultative messages to see where the grass fire started.

Do you read or just type? Who said anything about your use of "think"- our highly trained scientist rob. Not me. Your brain is muddled from too much amsoil in your coffee
You assume incorrectly.
Those are hydraulically actuated manual transmissions.
NEXT!
Dude. Get OVER yourself. Or go away. And take your meticulously crafted FREE stroker engine you slapped used heads on and stuck in with no tuning- with you...
There. NOW I'm bashing. You can be the martyr you've always dreamed of
ME TO! (I THINK) (tribute to BC) i had a great tiime in it too!! in fact, it did everything pretty well. since we are not going from a cup car to a auto, it wasnt that much of a diff, only shifting without the clutch through the two gears we used.
if anyone has been to thunderhill, 2:05.xx is really fast and most any street car, vets, vipers, camaros , STI's, etc, never get near this kind of time even wtih decent drivers.

remeber, you couldnt even tell what the machine work was all about when it was double the spec for the head machining.
Now, do you feel better?
you are a funny dude! really!

It was meticulously built by Bill and me, and hardly slapped together. the heads were machined perfectly, and meticulously installed with a lot of TLC.

Your memory sucks and you can't even tell the difference between who is who. You received a shortblock (shortblock is complete engine, sans heads. Sans means "without"). Built in Green Bay. You slapped non-rebuilt (do you know the difference between rebuilding and skimming the mating surface?) onto a new engine. Hopefully you didn't use amsoil assembly past on the rings.
Good luck Chuck.
Good luck Chuck.
yes, i put on the old heads, decked. a couple of valves were cleaned up, so it was refreshed. yes, i used a mixure of assembly on the skirts and around the rings, not pure assembly lube like you put on the bearings. but, mixed with oil, its good protection for start up and turning the engine over a lot for cam timing.
judge the sucess. many things were not as others would have done, but it worked and worked well. in fact, if we followed the head tightening process the engine would have been pulled again in short order. we discovered things that helps others with special headgaskets.
and you contributed what??
thats it for now.
back ot the regular discussion.
Oh and by the way, look up Martyr . Im not the victim here and im not trying to manipulate anyone. Im just triying to share my sucess racing the 928. how many others here, besides Brian even post their racing videos??

That's enough, guys.
Mark:
There's five solid pages of you pounding on your chest screaming "Me Tarzan".
Seriously, we all get it.
Brendan:
You will never get Mark to conceed a point....its simply has never happened, here on Rennlist. You are bashing your head against a wall.
Give up, before you get in trouble.

you are pretty stubbon too. remember how you defended the INT plate discussion?? we all learn here, dont dismiss all that i have done on the track with the 928 . my engine builds (or assemblies) have a pretty clean record too!
my only point is that i dont think im going easy on the 928 , racing it. you seem to imply that i am. what ever im doing , its working and it would be nice to understand what is different vs those that have had issues that were not oil quality related.
I get that you want to improve the 928 engine to be better and more durable. thats fine, and im still trying to understand the changes you have made to the crank and bearings vs stock. however, the stock stuff is pretty darn good, and if you dont bolt on a fancy intake or big cams, it doesnt pay to shift passed 6400rpm with most cars anyway. I think you need to develope a new intake that is bolt on and uses all the stock intake components. I would buy that!

Greg:
In watching many threads over the years I've learned that it's hard to argue with MK.
Not because he makes cogent arguments, but because he's ALWAYS right - especially when he's wrong.
I've simply stopped reading his posts, but it still gets awful tiresome scrolling through page after page of dreck.

Greg, Brendan is not making points, he is just trying to make himself feel better.

Please.
There's a huge difference between being stubborn and never being wrong.
I just don't think that you can apply your individual experiences to all of the 928 world.
