Jeff-

If keeping money allotted for 928 purchases separate from the rest of the finances is too challenging, gift it to my paypal account at redwards@uci.edu and I'll gift it back to you (or directly to the vendors) when 928 bits become available.

I'm pretty trustworthy.

On topic: What 928ing did I do today? Drove the stroker to the hospital and back. Set a new personal best for the return trip. (I'm transporting labile specimens, officer....)

Replaced the heater valve I got at SITM, fixed some vacuum leaks in the HVAC. But the biggest issue was a hole in the vacuum hose to the Flappy. Now my HVAC is working great. Couls have used that on Thursday in Alcoa.

Well, I provided the moral support as Jim Willman came to the rescue again! He found out that it was a bad relay preventing the A/C from working in EURO85 and I had a good spare so we fixed that. Could not figure out why the door locks don't cycle when either door is locked from the outside (yet works fine when you push the dash button). Thanks Jim! You are the master! As usual! Bunch of my wife's graduated seniors came over for dinner tonight and drooled over the cars as did the Methodist Mens Group last night! I LOVE MY CARS!

Put a new Interstate battery in the GTS. According to the date code, it was right at 5 years old.

It would still start, but did not have enough juice to keep the digital readout on the bottom of the gauge cluster where it needed to be set. Started cranking really slow and would clear the readout.

I never had a battery last 5 years in the 79. (I always used die hard in the past)

Sticking with the 85 month Interstate from now on. Still had almost $30 worth of credit towards a new one and I wasnt even the original purchaser of the battery.

The dude at the shop that I exchanged it told me to leave my lights on and wear the battery down to nothing every 2 years and I could get a brand new battery under warrantee for the life of the car.

I didn't argue with the guy, but I was like, "are you really telling me this??"

Maybe I'm on to something here.

I was chosen to test the brand new Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner from Griot's Garage. I bought a '87 928 S4 two weeks ago and drove it 2227 miles back to Dallas. The Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner arrived yesterday and I went right to work. It's amazing! The thick solution clung to the wheels and broke down the tough road grime, stubborn break dust and 24 years worth of wheel well junk right before my eyes. After letting it sit for 3-5 minutes, I followed up with light scrubbing then rinsed. I followed up with Under-Carriage Spray on the wheel wells and Rubber & Vinyl Dressing on the tires Check it out at www.griotsgarage.com No affilation just a happy customer.

Andy,

Be sure the wheel cleaner is safe for anodized wheels! That is the biggest problem with the stock wheels is folks use a caustic cleaner and strip the beautiful silver anodizing right off of them! Then they look TERRIBLE! If you don't have the original stock wheels then disregard!

Would seem it would be OK on OEM wheels based on the description..

Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner
Clean Really Dirty Brake Dust-Blackened Wheels Quickly And Easily
If you go a little too long between washings or you drive a vehicle with brakes that blacken your wheels, here's some much-needed help. You're going to love how well this cleaner works and how easy it will be to remove stubborn grime. Our Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner is a pH balanced, nonacidic and non-caustic formula. Its thick solution clings to the surface, breaking down and loosening stubborn brake dust and road grime. It actually changes color as it works! Spray on, allow it to remain on the wheel for 3 to 5 minutes, gently wipe with any one of our cleaning tools and rinse clean. I suggest our Wheel Scrubbing Brushes and Foam Swabs. Safe for use on any painted, chromed, uncoated aluminum and powder coated wheels. There are wheel cleaning products on the market that claim to be spray-on, hose-off, no-touch wheel cleaners. If you've tested them like we have you've discovered they don't really get your wheels thoroughly clean. You still have to wipe the surface for a proper cleaning. Any cleaner that could work without wiping would be extremely harmful to the environment and to your eyes, skin and nose. Enjoy this fabulous cleaner knowing it's safe and it really works.

Tonight I installed the Rad, trans and engine cooler lines, lower rad hose and then I went to install the upper rad hose.
This is what I saw

Tec-4 GT coils
The coils are mounted according to the instructions

The instructions say flatten the old coil bracket but now ILL remove it to make more room, so I cut it and give it a spray

The short mounting post just got shorter

There that is much better, but i said it before. I hate when I have to mod new parts
It still touches but ILL pick up 2 feet of 2 1/4 split loom for on the hose to protect it
