Got my Headlights and Window Motors working. Still need to figure out what is up with my Flasher Indicators. When I hit the Hazard Lights, all the lights just come on, but they do not blink. Same with my turn signals. When I hit them, only the light activates - but there is no blinking!
I had the same problem with my 90 S4. I had to change the relay and everything worked after that.

yesterday. Started it and took it off the jackstands for a quick test drive. Porkensioner installed, gates belt, "newer" cam and oil pup gears...new front seal and the cam timing set/synch'd to "0". Now hopefully when i get home Saturday there wont be a drop under the motor.

Too flipp'n hot to drive around anyway.

Next up perhaps dropping the rear end and fixing a pesky converter seal leak.

Took out the motor mounting plate and drive assembly for the rear hatch wiper - shaft is totally seized - will neither rotate, nor move up and down. Time for a new one methinks (928.628.071.03)

Replaced the coolant res/cap/sensor and cleaned out the heater/AC box with a little vacuum on a hose, still not sure how leaves get on the drain side of them, but they damn sure do.

I am glad this thread is not "What did you do to some one else's 928 today, or my post count would be much higher.

Same here.

I replaced the old Panasonic 6 CD player head with a Sony deck with built in iPod tray. Works well but as always once you replace one only one part of a system with a new up to date device the remaining old parts are shown for what they are; very old.

So the hunt will start for replacement speakers and wiring but for now will listen to some great tunes while cruising the hwy

Cleaned battery and jump post connections and discovered the positive connector for the jump post is disintegrated. Bolted the wiring back together, wrapped with rubber electrical tape and used a wire tie to retain it until Roger can ship me another. Re-soldered the blade connectors on the cooling fan motors trying to eliminate the cause of my low voltage during hot idle with AC on. Tensioned the alt belt and get a consistent 13.67 volts running at idle in "P" from cold start with no accessories. Once I have AC front and rear on full with hi beams and fog lights my idle voltage in park drops to 12.07 and probably drops further when idling in "D" so I am going to get a new voltage regulator and see if that resolves the issue. If that doesn't help then it may be time to bite the bullet and get the alt rebuilt with new windings and diodes.

I removed and reinstalled my 79's oil pressure sending unit to fix a leak. I wrapped some teflon tape around the threads and installed a new washer. I then fired her up and ... FLASHING WARNING LAMP. So... I got back underneath, swapped the wires...

...and promptly snapped off one of the wire posts!

No more leaks though. I will splice the wires for now as some PO already half butchered the wire harness.

Put the car on all four jacks. Flushed out the transmission fluid along with the torque converter. Got 5qts out.

Waiting on 928 International for ATF.

Going to swap out my Brake MC. Ordered my Brake MC from NAPA.

I got hot heater air coming from vents going to swap out the Heater Control Valve, as soon it comes in from 928 International.

Read more on tuning the Tec-GT and was able to make some progress.

No bog or sputter off the line and goes hard to 5200 before it starts bucking. (like a rev limiter which is off)

What should your advance be under load around the 5000 range. I'm at 32 and that seems high but I'm not getting any knock yet.

New pain-in-the-*** item. Exhaust bung, driver's side for exaust sampler. Mine wore out and broke off. Passenger side is a breeze but drivers is 90' from convenience.

Took me a bit (and hope to help the next person):

Bung is 17mm. Open box wrench from rear forward. There is just enough room to get at it. Raise drivers side on your liftbar (or lift entire car) to get at it.

A standard lug nut (M14 x 1.5) will fit just fine. A like acorn nut will work just as good. Bonus points for using a ball bearning. 19mm btw...save yourself a trip to the toolbox.

Carry on...Happy Fourth of July!!
