Finally painted the engine bay and wheelwells. Loads of prep and masking - baulked at taking out most of the bulkhead stuff but turned out pretty well even if it was only with rattle cans.Next job is to replace new/refurbed suspension and bay fittings. Can't wait!

928 DOOR REFRESH
Yes, I actually do things once in a while instead of just posting on theoretical topics.
Here we have a bonified door refresh in process:
1.) Remove PO tinting
2.) Replace window seals
3.) Replace door stays
4.) Refelt the sliders, so the windows won't scratch

After more or less one month closed in the garage, even without my battery maintainer connected, it started on the first crank, idles smoothly and made a trip of about 100 km's without missing a beat!!!
So, in this case it's not what I did to my 928 but what it did to me, just put a big smile on my face....
I love this car!!!

I did something that was such a hack, so kludgy, so against the Rules of Excellence in classic car care, that I'm not going to reveal it.
But I will say that it seems to be working.

While I had the wheels off for new tires and balancing, I had time to check out current status of brakes and undercarriage. Rotors and pads still good to go, no leaks to be found so decided to do annual clean up of wheel wells. Picked up new tires and cleaned up and installed and torqued to spec. It's raining today so I'll try and get it out to settle the suspension once weather clears...it's looking like spring..finally!
And Curt, you really should tell us and not hold us in suspense as to what you did!

Masked the intake as reference for PC shop
I actually did this yesterday...masked the intake as a visual sample of which flat mating surfaces, threaded holes, threaded studs, etc. needed to be masked before dropping it off with the side covers and cam covers. All parts are getting this plus clear coat....

I finally finish balancing the pistons and rods to within a 1/10 of a gram of each other. So many aluminum shavings, I hope they don't start a fire...
I went this car so I don't have to worry about the weight of the rings and wrist pin circlips when putting everything back together.
Now to get a jig to balance the rods....

Took out the license plate lights, housings, found one rusted to nothing, refurbed the other. Cut out the opening to add a new license light and camera combo.
Retimed the motor. Still running strong.

How did that turn out? I have the camera mounted to the plate and like your idea better.
