It was a pretty good day. The elder statesmen look pretty good:

Finished cleaning up the intake tubes and injection openings, polished up hard lines and fittings. I need new injection seals to finish the re-instillation of this intake system on the block.

Re- skinned the rear valence. Mine has no tools, are they worth looking for and putting back?

Finished rewrapping the driver's side ABS cable with Rescue Tape and reinstalled it and the brake pad wear and ABS sensors, annual flex plate check (flat) and driveshaft splines (no movement).

Got my new power steering return line installed. I went with replacing the whole hard line since I think I still had the original that has noise issues per tech bulletin 4-8602. Little bit of a puzzle getting it in position so it crosses underneath the high pressure line. Things might have gone a little smoother by removing the high pressure line first, but I didn't have the additional crush rings. It wasn't too awful though.

Do you have more information on this tech bulletin? I can't find it. Thanks.

It says that the noise problem started in MY '83, and VIN 922GS860549 was the first to get the new line. The one I removed had a hard line all the way to the rack. The new one has a short soft line at the bottom protected by a big coilover spring.

Started to remove the starter cable for replacement, finished mounting all parts of the front bumper. Front pinch bolt replacement next.

Tired of the leaking ATF oil pan and hoping to drive up to Curt's Camp 928 gathering in June...So..I drained the ATF. Will let it drip for a week or until a new pan gasket arrives from Roger. Will try straightening the pan "ears" to level the sealing lip of the pan. Fingers crossed.

Inspected car for parts order. Building spring todo list.
It's a growing list for sure. Got oil leaks, vauum lines old, fuel lines needing replacement, aluminum ball joints to replace, trans fluid to flush.

Oil everywhere

Loose lines

Timing belt

Old fluid

Oil leaks
