Thanks Dr Bob. It sounds like I have the crank shaft on improperly. Everything was locked, and the crank did not move. I will start a new thread tomorrow a.m, with photos. Much appreciated.

Entered it in a local antique car show. The fun started right away as I drove in and was waived into the parking lot. I had to explain that it is an '83, not a newer car. Then the next guy had to decide what class I should be in. Production cars 75-89, Nope. "Sports cars", yes. So I'm in a class with a 50's MG, 70's Triumph, Cobra, 356, MR2, 80's Alfa, one of each basically representing all of the foreign cars that weren't volkswagons in the 400 plus car show, along with the Cobra. Plenty of Mustangs and Corvette's, each having their own class (as expected). The 928 did get a lot of attention, mostly positive. The first guy that came up to me told me there was a left front fender for sale at one of the use parts vendor tables, slightly damaged though (and probably the only Porsche part there). We also got snowed on for a surprise, though not nearly as unwelcome as it was for the guy with the (topless) Cobra!

I moved the trouble-free 928 to a remote garage so I could inspect a newer/older/bound-to-be-troublesome-but-simpler acquisition. You cannot easily judge the mood of most cars, but here I see an angry look in one, and a look of anxious anticipation in the other.

Got the refurbished S4 calipers that I picked up from Gary Knox at Frenzy installed today. Along with Stainless brake lines, system flush, new pads and front inner and outer wheel bearings. Getting her ready for the 1,000 mile drive to 3rd Coast in a couple weeks! Big thanks to StrayCat for taking this project on for me as my schedule has been travel for the last month!

As part of a suspension refresh I pulled the rear suspension pins for the bottom shock mounts. After reading how prone these are to seizing I was pleased these came out easily.

lChanged the diff oil - comparing the vile black stuff with the light gold that went in make me wonder how long since the last change. Or is this ,87 vintage I recycled?
