So what did you do to your 928 Today......

The disc did not come off because I had the windshield replaced 3 years ago so the glue is still relatively fresh.

Read, re-read and re-read again Hilton's awesome write-up on "How to repair a broken comb flap actuator..." while also shopping for a replacement dash WIAIT... and (dreaming?) maybe a pod and seats too?
All the while wishing I was on the mainland so I could go for a really, really long drive to think about all this...

Lol... I've found the best driving is here is between 10PM & 4AM- and that's really for doing each of our Interstates (H1, H2 & H3) end to end. ;-)
Meanwhile...
Defroster Vacuum Actuator: 1
Me: 0
Rematch scheduled for after dash removal... ;-)

Hows the restoration going.....actuator flaps hey ..fun stuff. Good luck mate.
Me, I've just pulled the front bumper to begin front half respray. I figure if I can just get the body work right, I can then concentrate on the other stuff but still be able to enjoy a drive every now and again.

Finally got the intake and cam covers on and looking right. Cleaned the valley, replaced breather hoses, knock sensors, and did a flap-ectomy. Also put new gaskets on the water bridge and oil filler neck. New BERU plugs from Roger should be here today, and I should be able to get it all buttoned up tonight.

Replaced the freeze switch on the GTS and removed most of the front of the engine to check a problem.
Removed the belly pans (2) and the A/C compressor on the '89. Just need to figure out what kind and the model so I can order the correct seals to rebuild the compressor.
Corrected the window problem with the Stepson by replacing the window winder relay. Found the problem with the A/C having no power at the compressor. The A/C head unit is bad. I removed the head unit and located one of my replacement units to substitute. The replacement unit works, but I need to fix the slider controls and install LED lighting to match the rest of the dash.

In keeping with the thread...
I walked up to my car late today (Monday) and saw dust. Shook my head and will wash Tuesday. Also checked mounting points for SUP rack, screw bits for 12 point door arrestor screws and lost yet another small part to the wormhole located under my DS seat. (Yep, taking both out soon anyway for cleaning...)
To your post, So far, so good. I've distracted myself with both doors- since I need to put in some new speakers (mahalo Hans!) and on PS replace lock with one that's keyed to my main key as well as replace PS door arrestor. DS door needs some 3M 80 love w/carpet and maybe a touch of good ol' duct tape for what remains of the decaying door card. Also got more needles and more appropriate thread in for steering wheel as all the thread Rob sent was consumed as training materials. ;-)
For the main project tho- it's (1) remove storage trays (bilat), (2) remove dash, (3) remove "box" and fix comb flap vacuum attachment & replace defroster actuator, (4) remove blower and drop recirc box and replace recirc flap and then (5) test & re-assemble. Oh... and same for instrument cluster... still have a few LEDs I need to rotate for proper polarity... but (hopefully) nothing major. ;-)
Amazingly... restoration is slated for 2016 or 2017! (lmao!)

Replaced the Resistor Pack that enables HVAC Fan Speed to run at various speeds. I was expecting the typical circus spending many hours sorting out other issues while swapping in new Resistor Pack but I lucked out.
This link was my guide.
The entire replacement took less than 15 minutes. It's nice not having a permanent wind tunnel in the cabin.

Removed 12 rusted through bolts and nuts from my blue iris' exhaust manifolds and mid-pipe to cats. Only striped and torn 4 bolts and punched out the remaining studs.

Worked on the 78 parts car over the last couple days...
Removed fuel tank, complete exhaust system, battery box, starter, clutch and pressure plate, anti-freeze, motor mount bolts, radiator, vertical grill, hood, wheels and a bunch of small stuff.
Tired of all the disassembly work, so I pulled the cover off the red 78 and washed the inner wheel-wells and monkey-farted around under the hood for a bit.
Tonight, rolled the 84 out and went to the vets office for some meds for one of the hound. Awesome evening for a ride, granted...way to many deer thought it was a nice night for a stroll, too.
Brian.
