And for the Deputy:

It's a bit late, but there are stickers out there to replace the worn icons on the buttons.
Noooooooooooooooooo...

I'm glad I kept the old switches...this will be something I'll check into.

Thank you.

Waxed the 84 and then drove my grandson, in the hot rod as he calls it, to the county fair. He's seven and fit into the rear seat nicely.

Brian.

Failed to convince my friends to ride to dinner in the back seat of my newly-air conditioned shark. Had to take the Hummer instead. God dammit...

I'm one week into my first Porsche (86.5 928 5-speed) and am carefully going through it - a couple minor problems:

Rear wiper - repaired the phenolic gear and now must re-work the wiper drive pin or adjust the hatch lower as they just miss each other.

Fuses - pulled a couple of fuses and found corrosion, so I pulled em all and cleaned or replaced them.

Rims - replaced the BBS rims (very original to the car) with phone dial rims and sourced some original (to the year) rims. BBS rims are going up for sale.

Speakers - the speakers in the rear deck were fried so I replaced all four in the rear cabin.

I picked up a spare key - and while this sounds simple, they were very particular in ensuring I was the owner - I drove to the Ottawa Porsche dealer, presented my credentials and acquired a second key.

Will diagnose an interesting little "clunk" noise on the left side just behind the driver - sounds like something might be loose, but a very light noise (strut/shock mount?).

Making a list of winter work (eg the HVAC flapper system is not working and the fan control numbers are stuck etc)

Received my last little box of parts from Roger (Injector o-rings, knock sensors, gaskets for water bridge and oil filler neck, rubber caps that the intake hold down bolts go through) so I can finish the intake R&R on the 89 S-4. Painted the lettering on my newly powder coated intake this morning before work (pics will follow when done). Now, I can finally get this thing put back together. She's been idle for a week, and needs to exercise. I love getting boxes of 928 parts at work, always makes the day better.

Got the lettering done on the intake. Also insulated the injector rails in preparation for the install this weekend.

Did the same, but rears only. Replaced PS-2's. I've only driven it a little, need to take it for a longer drive to get a good feel for how they comare. So far (<25 miles) they are as quiet or quieter than the PS-2's that were worn into the wear bars.

We'll see if the UTQG 500 number is valid. Tires that came off were seven years old and almost 30k, should have been replaced a couple years ago due to both age and wear. I just haven't been driving the car enough.

Put on a new rear view mirror. Now it doesn't shake and rattle. Plus the toggle switch on the bottom works.

Makes driving much nicer as I can actual see what type of car is behind me.

My review mirror fell of yesterday. Got the glue and had a royal battle getting the metal disk out of the mirror housing.

Stuck the disk back and now have a battle to get the mirror to slide back fully over the disk.

How did you do it?
