Pulled the power steering resevoir out as it was nearly empty from a leaking hose right up top. Degreased and scrubbed it, ran some water through both hoses and it was slightly clogged. Now flows like new. Snipped the top of the hose where it was leaking and is now ready to re-attach. Prepped front fuel hose by wrapping it with a rubber grommet and lock tie. Spoke to Roger. Placed an order for new fuel hoses and much needed parts. Absolute gentleman!

Last step in a project that included new shocks, new springs, new steering rack bushings, upper a-arm bushing rebuild and new front splash guards.

Pulled the AC Clutch and bought a 6" puller for the pulley, to get at the bearing that growls.

Still working on getting the tap repaired - one aborted attempt already - on a different tack now. Too many other things going on last few weeks.

Tell me more about your plan for a front battery box - what is the thinking - auxilliary battery or moving the primary battery up front?

Today I took the main battery out for replacement - dead cell - it still starts the car fine - but one cell is definitely a gonner...

Swapping it out later...

I also have a new head unit to go in - my Blaupunkt Nav system is coming out and will be available if anyone is interested... Single DIN system.

From now on when needed I will use my Tom Tom - now its retired from truck use - my new truck has a built in Nav...

I will still maintain a maps capability w/ internet options (via phone or plug in 3G modem) in the new head unit - a Parrot Asteroid with some "928 mods", goal is to get that in in the next few weeks.

Not exactly a direct 928 task, but - I ordered a Clutch Slave from Roger to replace the one that was given to me a week ago by a renown UK 928 owner who offered his spare slave to me, saving our Scottish Highlands Touring holiday. Thank You Philip.

Because it failed on Saturday and there were Public Holidays (Jubilee) on both Monday and Tuesday, there was absolutely no chance of getting the car moving again for almost a week, and yet my car was repaired and on the way within 24hrs of me posting a cry for help on the 928 UK email list. What an amazing community this is!

I Went for a nice rip out of town about 45 min 1 way.
On the way back I came up against a small crotch rocket that had just pulled onto the road and was trying to stay ahead of me.
I pulled up beside him around 130k with my window down and he was hammering on it so I did too.
To my surprise I walked away from him and he was really trying till about 160 then I think he felt shamed.
I guess the VE tuning run last night helped but she is still running to rich.
Maybe he was on a tuning run as well and needs more time

Got a lot done today!!! Worked on the car from 5:45 am to 6:00 pm

Changed the fuel hoses with Roger's kit.

Checked for fuel leaks (none)

Rewired all the affected wires from minor fire.

Re-installed the center console.

Found a few more ground points, cleaned their connections/contacts.

Changed out all the fuses with fresh one's.

Cleaned the throttle body.

Checked for spark.

Installed new K&N air filter.

Cleaned motor & undercarriage with "Engine Brite Gel".

Fixed the sunroof, which did not work when I bought the car. Works great now!

Cranked her over and she started right up, stronger than ever! She lives!!!!

What a great day...

Installed the new reverse gear frictions and steels, new B1 band, re-sealed main pump, and new B3 piston into my transmission. Also got the new B2 piston lip seal installed and re-installed the existing updated B2 piston. Installed the K1 spring update while I was in there as well. I tried to replace the o-ring for the pivot pin the control pressure lever rides on but the o-ring I received was the wrong size. Have to double check that I ordered the right part tomorrow.
