We are in Wyoming now and on the way home. Stopped this morning and a nice chat with Garrity at Motorsport in Salt Lake.

When I get to my PC I will post some good pics for you guys. I have awesome video to edit too. On my 928 record run we got starting line, in car, and out of car from the 3-mile mark that should make a nice video.

The engine was fantastic and ran flawlessly. I always had more HP than traction, myself and everyone else were having to modulate the throttle carefully on the loose salt to try and get all the speed that was possible without wheel spin. You will here it in the video.

If we drive straight thru the night, we will be home by about 10 Sunday night. I will try to post up what I have by Tuesday.

One of the challenges (there were so many) was that we did not have a dedicated Bonneville car.

This is a road racer with a big engine and a Bonneville nose on it, much like the DEVEK car was when it made its record run. Like Marc Thomas, I paid careful attention to aero.

But to call it a dedicated Bonneville car is wrong. Then the wheelbase would be lengthened, the track narrowed, the roof lowered, etc.

Awesome work Carl, not just the going fast part, but the keeping it safe part too. I suspect next time will be almost as much an improvement as this time was.

When you get home, park your tow rig over some
sprinklers & just let them run- the salt gets into everything.

A "1971 Triumph GT-6 " set a record of over 300 MPH this year....smaller motor but on fuel. These salt guys are just NUTS ! Stock body from the cowl back......but that is all that is Triumph....

K
Love the TR6!

Congrats on the power and the motor you built! Must be a helluva ride to say the least!
Now we just need to find a place to put all that power down! Will you do it again? Hopefully track conditions will be better!

Awesome effort! I am sure you are just gaining more knowledge all the time!

Competing does that.

Except for a rear spoiler, I thought you were not allowed to modify the body past the firewall.

I should have videos posted in the next 7 to 10 days. I spoke to the video editor I am using and he will try to get them done asap.

I'm using the same guy who did the finished full-length Pikes Peak video, and if you have watched that you will know why. Very professional.

I should be able to post photos myself tomorrow depending on whats waiting for me on my desk in the morning.

We are about 4 hours away from home now.... pushing to make it for the Packers game...

The time slip... I was accelerating right through the last laser, if the salt were asphalt and traction was not a problem the speeds could be so much higher.
I never got to full throttle, not once. There wasn't traction enough for it.

I'm swamped - back in the office after being gone a week. Editing photos tonight, will post a short review with pics as quick as I can.

Thanks to all for your support.

I did post to facebook from that salt every day.

There is a nice chronology of events there if you want to know the turn-of-events.

Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/928-Mo...02377033156459

That looks pretty damn official to me, which brings to mind only one expression:
