With respect and love for my best friend and wife, Connie, and her battle with Parkinson's, the car is tagged for Parkinson's research this year as it has been in years past.

An interesting article from the Wall Street Journal: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...063944226.html It may be more difficult to hit peak speeds this year if salt conditions are poor.

We leave for Utah on Sept 12th.

We register and (hopefully) pass tech inspection on Sept 14th, and maybe get our 150 MPH licensing run in.

We should complete our 200 MPH licensing run on Sept 15th.

After that, from Sept 15th to 17th, its as many attemps at the record as we can make.

The dates conflict with the Silver State Classic (again). I'll be tied up with that. Good luck, Carl!

Thanks Bill!

All the steel just arrived for the mid belly pan and ballast tanks! The front chin splitter is welded, the engine belly pan is on the car, and the rear diffuser is being welded now.

Carl, cut holes in that rear bumper section where the license plate is. find another spot for you decals! thats a huge parachute, and is a good sourse of drag. what i did was cut it all out and then screen it off.
might be worth 1-2mph at 228mph!

I agree, the rear bumper is like dragging a big bucket down the strip if you let it fill up.

Rather than let it fill up, I have added more inner fender liners in the rear to keep the air from reaching the inside rear bumper, the chin splitter is 30mm off the salt, the car will be completely skirted (so air can not enter from the side), and the rear diffuser seals off the rear bumper from the bottom.

Whatever air does get by all of this and to the inside rear bumper is being let out by not filling in the two rectangular holes left behind by the removal of the bumperettes.

Thanks, Heinrich. I hope to get it outside for a complete photo shoot soon.
Of course, it cant just be art, it has to perform as intended or it isn't worth much to me...

I finished the rear diffuser today and the rear spoiler. Here's what it looks like.

The rear spoiler is controlled by the rule book, they only allow Type A or Type B rear spoilers on the land speed cars... This is Type B.

I finished welding the belly pans yesterday - day-to-day pics of the build in progress are on our facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/928-Mo...02377033156459

It looks cool Carl. Al I can say is that I hope those are straight or you will have a lot of unwanted steering.
I understand that if they are right, they will help hold you straight
