Some serious work and time there Carl....Good luck with it all and for gawwds sake be careful.

Is that a multiple chute...or single stage etc. Nasty things happen when that much drag is added so quickly...

How true..."One challenge we have always had is trying to please every sanctioning body. I have had to build to safety spec for SCCA, PCA, Midwest Council, Pikes Peak, and now Bonneville - each with their own and sometimes conflicting requirements. Its always a challenge. "

It would NOT pass POC Tech as is.....but I doubt you plan to run on the West Coast anytime soon. Good luck with the run.

I was thinking that with all the hype leading up to this effort, that once the effort was underway, we'd be getting minute by minute reports.

It's more like they fell off the edge of the earth.

Anyone know what is going on?

If I had to guess (and I do), WiFi is a bit sketchy out there. Carl has been updating his Facebook page versus Rennlist which is much easier to do on a cell phone.

Yesterday he ran 181mph to qualify for the record run & earn his Bonneville License.

So far today he has topped out at 201mph:

Latest post from Carl:

We had a good and bad day today. Touched 201 MPH but still having too much suspension travel in the front. We are making bump stops now to limit suspension travel for tomorrow.

Lets pass along some of that Al Holbert Mojo.....

Never noticed this before, but if you look at 3:05, you can see that a very wide swath was groomed for this run. Is this done for all the high speed runs, or is this another example of Porsche stacking the deck in favor of its stock (with no mirrors, wipers, lowered ride height, tweeked ECU, high lift cam, and who knows what else) production class record?
