I believe that is a certified 928 land speed RECORD......exceeding the 210mph set by Devek years ago.....and the 209.9 by Cheryl Dey...

Way to go Carl...keep it up!!!!!!!

Update from Bonneville:

We may be done. We have 14 to 24 MPH winds and some rain. We are hunkered down in the Transporter waiting to see if maybe we can run this afternoon.
Start doing the anti-ran dance people!!!

I can't imagine rain would be good for the salt.

I would think that rain might be good as it may compact and level out the salt. Of course I've never seen a salt flat so YMMV.

I know nothing about the Salt Flats, it's just when I think of water on salt, I think chunks.

Bill and I are in Ely and it's raining really bad here. Suppose to clear up for the weekend, but that
won't help Carl out.

They use water to "repair" the surface. Of course, it needs to dry out...but that only take a few hours, this time of year.

How long it rains will determine if they can run.

Looks like he's gone faster than any other 928...but they were basically stock vehicles, with big engines, so that shouldn't be too tough, with a dedicated "salt flat" car.

Looks like he's a fair ways from the "class" record....and tying more than one mile together, at a time, seems to be an issue.

Might be a convenient time to go home.
