Ahh, Lemons rookie.

There IS NO "hot pits". Hot pits is closed. Back to your pit for any work or fuel.

So we should start a lottery. Who thinks the 928 will receive the "People's Curse".

You guy's don't really think you're going to get away racing one of the most expensive cars ever created do you. Or does having the Evil One on your team give you a pass, being he's an insider to the Lemon's smucks. Hell, our team can't even get an entry to the races that receive more than 60 entries. Ever. I've pretty much had it with their ****.

Dude....you flame Bill Ball for jumping ship (hopefully sarcastic) then bash the lemons effort.....talk about HATER

This 928 is a legit $500 car....I DID pay $256 for it and have the reciept to back it up.... Am I worried about getting crushed...sure, everyone that races lemons should be..... but our plan on having VERY clean driving should minimze the risk....

So Richard Wolff and I put in a solid 9 hour day chasing "little" (ya right) issues.... which ended up being a TB job, front main seal, intake removal, new injector lines (the little ones on L jet) among other things..... after a serious headache getting the engine timed correctly (oddly enough won't run with the damper on backwards?) its all good...runs very well...stronger than before with NO LEAKS.....yes it takes away some "personality" but should improve reliablity too!

.

Wow. I don't know what to say. But, I'll give it a try.

First, I don't own or run this LeMons team, I only help build the car.
Yes, I work as a scrutineer for LeMons and am very involved with the organization.
The word went out on Jalopnik, the LeMons forums and other media that the organizers would look kindly on a 928 LeMons car, this is not insider info and indeed another team on the Rennlist forums is building one.
I have been turned down for entry at lemons (it was just another boring Volvo without a good theme)
I am a Miata specialist and know that I can easily put together a $500 Miata that can kick ***. Yet I don't, I know that there are too many Miatas in the race and that it is hard to get accepted with one.

Simply put, there is no 'PASS' I look for interesting cars to be involved with and help them out. Iceman found the car, I said It'd probably get in the show and the build commenced. My next project is a 54 Nash Metropolitan, not easy, but weird enough to be accepted and that is a large part of the game.

I'm sorry your team didn't get accepted, but, what was your car and what was your theme? Up your game, and you'll get in, its what we did after getting turned down.

Yes, the car may get cursed, but only if the drivers drive too aggressively, the interest in the LeMons community is great, they want to see the car run and do well.

Come on up and cheer the car on.. it'll be fun

of course having the car run would be nice too...since we are chasing an odd no start right now?

why in the heck would you guys do ANYTHING to the car after you tracked it and had it running for a day. If oil wasnt POURING out of the front main seal, I certainly wouldnt touch it. now, you have belt tension, intake issues, as that was pulled off. Man, 1 week to go and you are injecting a LOT of variables for a 2 day race with no tollerance for anything other than a well running car.

the plennum comes off as one unit. I have full fuel rails off a running car, that I could have given you , with injectors.

I dont know the details of what you were chasing, but this is getting down to the wire!!!

I know its terrible timing,I hate it the most after all the hours ive dumped in this "easy" lemons project. but as a matter of fact it WAS dumping oil out by the barrell. I spun out in turn 2 when the oil cooler line failed, ok that on me but then later in the day I could feel the grip disappear a few time in turn 4 as the oil soaked undertray spewed oil all over the front tires. it was bad, i was afraid of an oil fire, thats not how our car roll. there were o rings like the oil pump seal that were hard as pencil lead!

It was almost worth all the effort of saturday when it finally ran and ran better than before, turned out it wasnt getting much vacuum advance, so thats why it runs better now. So today a friend and I wired in the cut off switch, simple job yeah? hello no it runs fine but the kill swtich doesnt kill the engine. Ok ok wired the computer wirng on the always hot side of the switch thats an easy fix, so we undo the wire and move it to the proper terminal and boom! the car will not start. its back to its old bitch and moan routine where only the coldstart injector fires off but no main injectors, the car will run if you manuall feed it fuel like brake clean. the computer has a solid 13v and at least 10v during cranking, we cleaned all teh grounds we could. cleaned the AFM meter plug again ( which fixed it when it did this on friday) the injector wiring isnt shorting out, what else would stop the injectors from firing?? im not even getting pissed anymore, im starting to not care, and that is when things have gotten bad in my books. any idea? ive gone over all the fuses and relays too

I'm leaning towards the temp II sensor and possible the temp-time sensor...I will go up there tomorrow to check things out before work...

Jim Bailey would say "Relay, relay, relay..."

Edit: Sorry, just re-read your post and see you mentioned checking the fuses and relays.

thanks rich, i did replace the ecu relay, brian brought a spare, and it didnt help. the power is going through it. the ecu has a little pigtail with a cap on it, im guessing its a diaganostic plug, when i DVOM the brown and blue/red wire i get voltage, im assuming this is the ecu power, it turns on and off with the ignition. this is where im measuring the 13v static and 10v cranking.

thanks for the help guys, im still looking!!
