i've got a few pics on the home computer, stuck at work today
(i'm actually not sure what specific color mine is, it's a 79 euro that i purchased around 1993, sold to a friend in 1999 when i moved across country, and found in Miami on Trader Online a couple of years ago and bought back - it had been painted while in Miami (originally a green car), and i'm not sure if it's a factory Porsche color or not, still trying to determine exactly) -
i guess being a Noob i should add a few pics so that everyone knows who the new guy is, maybe this weekend -

off topic, i'm a bike guy too, great find on the bike as well - gotta love those 2 birds with one stone deals -

you should be okay, i have mid/late 90's 911 wheels on mine, the front center caps don't fit without spacers, but i doubt that's your main concern -

I keep thinking about what's parked in the garages in my area. There is tremendous wealth in the Santa Barbara areas of Montecito and Hope Ranch, and there's got to be some that are just sitting there. As it is I come across another that I've not seen before every month or so. I'm thinking of starting a local shark society and getting the local Porsche garages to send off a mailing about it to their 928 customers just to see what would happen.

It was the Lexus version of the L/C. Coulda been our guy though. Didn't you hear him hollering at you asking if you wanted this old heap he had in his garage?

I doesn't matter what he paid, and it only matters what someone is willing to pay on any given day for the car.. Same as with any of mine... one day a fortune, the wrong day with no buyers, nothing.. LOL

I wouldn't tell anyone either, I got con'd into letting my purchase price on the 10k car out of the bag... I regret it.. LOL

It will be interesting to see what happens with it, I think there is a high probability it will end up with a Rennlister so it will have a good home, and that is all that matters.

And since the color question keeps coming, for me that is the main reason I am interested. It is within a shade or two of Riviera or Mexico Blue, and I have always wondered what that would look like on a 928, and now I know and I LOVE IT, as in OMG I love it.. I would love to see it with my other two sharks, what a threesome.

Default Royal or Arrow Blue?

Hmmm. Whats the deal here?

An official Porsche pamphlet I have that came with the car when new is entitled "1982 Porsche Colors". Inside it is split into 2 sections, top and bottom. The top says "911SC and 928 Colors" and the bottom "924 and 924 Turbo Colors".

For the 911SC/928, there are 4 blues listed. Royal Blue, Light Blue Metallic, Pacific Blue Metallic and Minerva Blue Metallic. Clearly my '82 is Royal Blue, correct?

<<<HOWEVER>>>

I just looked at the fuzzy pic I took of the door jamb. Paint code 305 and what looks like "arrowblau". So is this pup Arrow Blue then?

To add to the confusion we have this. According to this info, code 305 is indeed Royal Blue:

http://www.928gt.com/t-928paint.aspx

For '79/'80, 305 is supposed to be Arrow Blue. For '81, there is no 305. For '82, it says 305 is Royal Blue. But my car says Arrow on the 'jamb.

Thoroughly confused I am. But hey things could always be worse

Just look at my race car to see how much I LOVE the color! My car was painted...you guessed it ARROW BLUE (since it was built on an '80 Euro S chassis).

Kie, that is interesting about the door jamb color code!

Shayne there is a calendar that was out many, many years ago that shows a Euro GTS in Riviera blue! AWESOME GTS!

Arrow Blue may be the Euro name and Royal the US name... long and short of it, call the son of a bitch Jelly Bean Blue.. .it is plain cool no matter what the name..

Shayne, how much was it you paid for that 10k 928 again??? I must have missed it! LOL! Just messing w/ you bro! I paid $41,500 back in '97 for a '94 GTS w/ 33,000 miles on the clock, but that has no bearing (is that the right spelling for the use of this word???) on this situation in any way. It will be great to see who ends up w/ the '82. As long as it goes to a good home where it makes it out to many shows so we can all see and love it, who can complain?!

Arrow Blue is the euro form of good 'ol Americano Royal Blue then. Brilliant!

I suppose then a car that says "Arrow" on the door jamb must be worth double with the exchange rate and all
