Anytime man. She is just sitting here in the shop stealing attention away from Ducatis, Hondas, Yamahas, etc.

That goes for any Rennlister who would like to take a look in person. I'm at the office a lot, and very often till crazy late hours. Stop by and grab a beer or whatever at any one of 10-thousand bars within 50 feet of here and relive the 80's. Or drink my Tecate if you prefer.

Jim,

I think if it's automatic it has to be, if I remember right, in Park or else it will spin the opposite way, even if it has LSD.

At best tires only stay safe for 10 years. Like milk they go bad with age. Even though they may LOOK OK the rubber breaks down. In Europe tires are deemed unsafe at 6 years old and that standard may be coming to the US soon. Who ever gets this car needs a set of roller wheels to mount while in the trailer , in storage , while it is driven two three blocks to the car show. Then at the show the wheels/tires are swapped back to the original .

I had a set of 6-7 year old tires.
Forgot how old the winter tires were and took a few corners with gusto.
Then noticed upon inspection that some of the out tread blocks had torn.
Old rubber don't flex well.

Summer tires, on the other hand, find it hard to last more than a few years before
wearing down to the wear bars.

Jim is spot on about the tires. Apparently my S4 had tires that were 7 - 8 years old and the things wouldn't stick. They were also unbalanced at high speed even though they were properly balanced on a machine within the past 2 years. They looked perfect but obviously they had internal issues which can't be seen by the naked eye. New owner caught this and told me he replaced them with Toyo's, car drives completely different now.

I don't see any reason why anyone would want to drive on the old tires, just save them for shows as Jim mentioned etc and buy a new set for driving, if you actually decide to drive the car.

...btw, this car was DQ'd b/c he didn't have a COA (certificate of authenticity).

Wow, that's required for the national concours? All classes or just Preservation?

Wow.
Those underside pics are amazing.
Having this car showcased in Excellence (like the mag or not) just adds to this car's value. 5 am aint so bad...
Someone's going to get a beautiful addition to their collection - or a great starting point.
Like the blue or not, just like Kermit's color, it adds uniqueness to this car and the era, IMO.
I'm glad I don't have a two car garage (or a wife that would tolerate another 928 - or a big chunk of cash lying around) or I'd be in on the 'count me in as interested' bandwagon.

BTW, Kie, your website link points to rennlist.com, not redlabelmoto.com
Thanks man, link fixed. Yeah I'm not really bitching about the early photo shoot, its going to be way fun! How many times in life does something like this happen?

My gearhead nut 'gal will be with me in full regalia. She had a great time on the other 80's icon supercar I stumbled onto a few months back. Here she is scrubbing her down and detailing the seats. She was having an M/soft group work meeting at the same time on her bluetooth!

I love your main girl there Kie! I can't even get my wife to COME OUT AND WATCH me clean a car let alone actually clean one herself! Don't even get me started about the house! Good thing I have a house keeper that comes in to help me every other week. My wife was out of town for two weeks (just got back a week or so ago) and the house was SOOO CLEAN while she was gone! Now it is driving me crazy again! I should have married someone neater!

At least she does not give me a hard time about my cars. In fact she saw the pic of Kie's new car and said, "Buy it...that is the color you have been looking for all these years." She is right... Now that I have said that (again) I probably can't afford the new asking price Kie will have! LOL!
