Did I get it right that the 1981 OB's are supposed to have a 21mm spacer on the rear wheels? I changed my rims over to the PD's and there was no spacer there. When I bought the car it had the S4 8" rims in the back. I guess they pulled the spacer when they installed the S4's. The PD's set farther in the wheel well than I would like. So I guess my question is do I need to be looking for 21mm spacers? Anyone have a set of them that they would like to sell? I'm on the road right now and don't have a tape measure to check. What length does a 21mm equate to? 1/2", 1", etc.. Jason

Three Wheelin'
Here's what they look like, it's mocked up for this picture, no way are these going on that car.
There's some serious brake clearance, about an extra inch compared to me CCWs. They do weigh a ton but otherwise seem kinda nice, they say 'made in Italy' on them.

Tom, the rim is well clear of the springs, probably 3 inches or so in this case. I don't think that would be an issue with any rim. The springs are actually Pro Shocks 2-1/2s.
'Dog, no the upper arms and every other suspension point has a PTFE lined spherical bearing. Those aluminum bits house a bearing. It probably sounds like overkill to use a spherical bearing when a straight sleeve would do but I'm a believer in them and feel the extra work is worth it. They are self lubricating, trouble free, have zero play and accomodate misalignment, even a supposed straight part like the upper arm has alignment issues. You don't have to worry about thrust too but it is alot of work to assemble them. They have to be perfectly spaced and that takes machining spacers to fit during assembly.

Those are really nice looking rims. I may try to find them in 8" for the OB before I buy new tires for the 16" PD's.

Also thanks for the info on the spacers. Soon as I get the car back from the body shop I'll get on the spacer issue. Jason
