The tire protrudes past the front fender 3/4 of an Inch.
I've driven about 50 or 60 miles and it may settle more.

What do these 996 turbo rims cost regularly, and who offers them?

You can't just buy the 18x10s normally. You can get sets of 8s and 10s on EBay all day long though for around $550 I think. There are probably 20 sets of them posted up at any given time.

I do have 1 18x8 ET 50 wheel that I picked up on Ebay while I trying to find my fronts after I bought the rears. A pair came up in PA that I bought so now I have the one spare. If anyone is interested in it, shoot me a PM.

WOW...that was a sweet deal for those who got in on it! Not bad at all! Rick they look great on your car too! A modern wheel is really all that is needed to update the look of any OB or S 928 to look like a current car frankly!

I need some 12" wide 18" diameter 7" rear offset wheels for the race car so I can get more cooling air on my brakes and use some more current tires.

I wonder if there is a source for used 18" X 12" slicks out there???? Any brand would do for me...cheap is the key! LOL!

Not sure if you're serious about the used tires, but Chuck Briggs turned me on to these guys.

They sell used tires, Chuck has been using them for some time. I bought a nice set of Toyo Proxies off Chuck after he went to a bigger wheel size on his track 928. They were pretty cheap.

Looks like it's going to take some tweeking to fit those on my 79. It's a bit lower then your car.

Those are 275's, correct?

I went through a tank of gas, so close to 300 miles + or - and it didn't settle much more. My take on flared fenders is it may be more trouble than its worth for me and the occasional DE. My rationale is that when the wheel is turned it is outside the fender well and the clearance doesn't change much with flared fenders. Yes they are 275/35/18.

Has anyone decided to sell these rims yet? I think they look nice on the OB's.

As an FYI, I'm running 255/35R18s on the front on 18x8 ET 50 rims on my 84. The tires stick out about 1/2" from the fenders but have yet to rub in a little less than 1000 miles.
