928 Club-Sport: Updates

I am giving the purchase of this car serious consideration. Presently, I believe it will take well north of 300,000 Euros to elicit a sale.
In any case, It will be expensive and set a high standard for the Club Sports as it is in such excellent condition (In My Opinion).
The estimate of 320,000 - 400,000 Euros could be conservative!
All it takes is two prepared and motivated individuals to push a rarity like this into the stratosphere...
One of the thoughts regarding a car at this end of the collector spectrum is that you can never pay too much - - - you can only buy too soon.

Current situation for the 928 CS's, to my knowledge:
Model-Year/Model/# produced/# of survivors:
1987/Prototypes/4/1
1987/Pre-Production for the pilots/4/3
1988/Early-production for the factory (2 Euro & 2 US)/4/0
1988/Regular production/8/6
1989/Regular production/7/7
So 17 of these 27 cars are found today. Good luck to find the missing ones!
It seems that at least one early 1988 Euro and one late 1988 Euro were crashed, and maybe destroyed.
Only the early and late-production cars are officially CS's, with the M637 equipment code, the M28/41 SP engine and G28/55 gearbox. And only the 1988's have a specific serial number.

Hi,
I have news about the 928 CSs:
- Official confirmation of the existence of the two US cars.
- Pictures of the 928 GTE, still in South Africa.
- Equipment codes of many cars.
You can read this here.
I would really like to find more about the US cars, specially as I know a Rennlister as sold one...
The VINs are WP0AB092CJS865061 and WP0AB092CJS865062. Both are red.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Samuel
PS: Don't hesitate to contact me (928clubsport at free.fr without spaces) if you have any kind of information about these cars. The website is dead but I will work to have a new one online.

I am investigating a new lead on #61 of the two US cars.
Thanks to you, the GTE landed in my stable and continues to be cared for at a high level - Hopefully #61 is in similar or as-new condition.
Dave

I've got to get over to see you guys and these artisan level cars & shops. Perhaps my wife would take care of things here for a month or so of European 928 touring?
Imagine placing the winning bid on this car and taking it to Lake Cuomo in mid September... Ahhhh the stuff dreams are made of...

Dave,
you‘re welcome. If my deal goes right I can inspect the GT in Munich if I drive the 86 home.
It would be my business car and full tax free for 400 € leasing a month. After 5 years I can buy it private for 5500 €.

It's hard to explain how happy I'm to see the car in this condition now.
Engine/transaxle/gearbox are still out of the car but the body is nearly finished.

Congratulations, Samuel, it looks great! Can't wait to hear/see it under its own power. When does the sticker go on the fender?

Fantastic job Samuel!
Your dedication to this project and management of the restoration has been inspiring to see.
I think I speak for all of us that we are excited to know it will be driving on the beautiful roads of France this summer.
Salute!
