The sharktuner is the way to go. 30#injectors are fine, you'll probably need them running 8.5 PSI.

Default Time for a New Belt

I'm wondering if I should replace the belt on my Jag/Eaton set up. It has been 16 months and 16K miles. It's a little glazed on the backside, but I can still see the lettering, although it is smudged. I see what looks like 1120. I THINK the belt is a 6PK1120 (6 ribs, 1120 mm length). I see other numbers but they are not clear.... 4060442 That's a guess.

What is the right belt for Andy's Jag/Eaton kit with 5lb boost pulley? Looking over at Andy's forum I see 43.6 - 44 - 44.5 inch length. 44 would be 1117 mm. So, I think 1120 is right and it is 6 rib. Contitech has a 6PK1120 as does Optibelt. Would one of those be right?

I guess 4060442 specifies 40 for ?, 60 for 6 rib, and 442 for 44.2 inches (1123 mm).

You are spot-on with the dissection of the 4060442 number. I believe Dayco always prepends their belt numbers with 40, then the rest is as you described. If you can find a similarly lengthed Gatorback, they are good belts. I've found that the Dayco Polycog (what Andy usually provides) lasts a good amount of time and is probably fine for your application. It is probably more important to look at the friction surface of the belt to determine health rather than the backside. If there's no slipping and the belt isn't glazed or cracked, it can probably be left in there for a while longer. Remeber, this is one belt that won't strand you if it breaks.

Thanks, Mike!

Looks like Daycos are 50 prepend, so I may be misreading or 40 may specify different specs. I'm checking now...

I see Gator uses 40 prepend.

What different crank pulley sizes came with Andy's kit?

Mine is 5" and the upper pulley is 2.476" and I am running 6 lbs boost. I want to go to 8-8.5 lbs. What is available out there as far as pulley sizes. Should I change the crank pulley or the upper pulley?

Thanks...

Gio:

I did find this from Andy's forum. I could not get in there earlier.:
Pulley Size-- Pulley Ratio- CFM @ 6000- S4 boost- S4 CHP----- Belt Lengths--------------------- Minimum octane
73mm-------- 1.74:1------- 625------------ 4----------- 385--------- 44.5, 44.0 w/ nut mod ---------91
70mm-------- 1.81:1------- 650------------ 5----------- 403--------- 44.5, 44.0, 43.6 w/ nut mod-- 91
66mm-------- 1.92:1------- 685------------ 6----------- 420--------- 44.0, 43.6 w/ nut mod--------- 93
63mm-------- 2.02:1------- 722------------ 6.8--------- 437/460IC 44.0,43.6------------------------- 91 w/ Intercooler
60mm-------- 2.12:1------- 740------------ 7.7--------- 472 IC----- 43.6
57mm-------- 2.23:1------- 780------------ 8.5--------- 482IC------ 43.6
55mm-------- 2.31:1------- 830------------

I have a 5" crank and the 70 mm (2.755") top pulley. You have the 63 mm (2.48") top pulley and would need a 57 mm (2.24") pulley....look at the octane too (not listed for 8.5). Mike should comment about why Woody's 8.5 PSI pulley is a different (larger) size. Also, a source for the correct pulley might be another issue if your's is the quick change, like mine.

That's good info, Bill. Wish I had it for DR's setup. Looks like I may have to obtain it myself?

But your picture got me thinking... Since I had my belt shred on me a few weeks back, I was wondering if anyone has any opinion on the quality of belts? Right now, DR is supplying a Dayco/Jayco (IIRC) 63" belt. I just retensioned the new belt and it seems to be fine, but I think I should have a replcement laying around... just in case.

Thank you. Mine is a quick change pulley as well. I think Woody's is an Autorotor. So does anyone know where I can get a smaller pulley size? Btw, I am running 93 otc.

Unfortunately, the only *proven* way to get a smaller-than-stock sized pulley on the eaton is to use the quick-change adapter. IF you have a quickchange adapter, then I believe the pullies that Andy uses are modified twinscrew pullies.

On my particular setup, I did manage to get an upgraded ford cobra pulley working, but there's 2 problems.

#1, since the snout offset on our jag/eaton units is different than the cobra/eaton units, the SC belt will move farther forward (towards the front of the car) on the crank pulley. If you have all of your belts hooked up, you might have some belt-conflict.

#2, also, since the offset is different, the entire pulley cannot be pressed onto the SC output shaft. I don't know how much this really matters... but FWIW, I drove at least 5,000 miles in this configuration with no issues that I know of.

If you're adventurous, there's companies out there who can make custom pullies. It *might* be worth looking into if it isn't too expensive. I personally haven't, but I wanted to call http://www.reichardracing.com/ to see if they could make an ultra-grip pulley for my application.
