928S4 Rear Ended...Year from hell continues :-(
Spent the better part of yesterday evening at the hospital after getting rear ended at a stop light. Don't know what this lady was doing. Must have been asleep at the wheel. She must have hit me going 25 or 30 miles an hour. Launched me into the intersection. Thought my head had got snaped off. She goes, "I don't speak the English so well".....I said, "do you understand the word police?" :-)
Totaled the front end of her Honda. The S4 took the hit better than expected and it looks like it only affected the rear bumper, but I don't think so. :-( Didn't even break the rear tail lights, but the exhaust looks out of place and the bumperettes are smashed into the rear. I'm thinking there has to be some structural damage. :-(
Bummer, I'll get pictures later. :-( Still managed to drive it into work today. Ran like a champ. didn't look so good though.

Wow, a lot of 928's are getting hurt these days. My 87 is still in the body shop from hitting a concrete wall after being cut off.
Sorry to hear that man. Hope you get her all fixed up!

I thought bad things were supposed to happen in three's. Or is that only for plane crashes? (Watch our Tony and Normy.) Anyway, this must be a statistical anomoly. It should pass... I hope, I plan to drive mine on Thursday to Beer Night!

Thanks for the kind words guys. The neck isn't too bad. Should be fine in a couple days. Might go a chiropracter. Still wating to find out how the lady's insurance coverage is. I don't know much yet, they hauled me off in an ambulance, so I'm still waiting for the final report. The officer said that his preliminary findings are that it was her fault. No kidding. :-)

S4 bumperettes and shocks? Unless this lady has no insurance, I'm going to let the shop handle all repairs and parts purchases (most are a real pain in the *** about that stuff anyway, and I'm going to insist on genuine Porsche parts). But I'll keep you in mind.
Thanks,
JE

Thanks Don. I'll be OK in a couple days. Just waiting to hear if this Lady is covered, or my insurance is going to take the hit.
Once again, I appreciate everyones thoughts and replies on this. It's been a tough year anyway, and nice to know the 928/Rennlist community is so supportive.

JE

Thanks, Heinrich. I looked at a bit of it last night, but haven't pulled back the cargo rug and really given it a good going over yet. It was dark last night, and dark when I went to work this AM.

Oh no! The other 3 are back in the garage crying.
Glad to hear you doing ok, take it easy, neck injuries can take a few days to set in.

Bill, thank you. Erik, thanks...I hope it doesn't get any worse. It doesn't feel too bad today. Got the big Motrin Horse Pill from the doctors. Seems to be doing the trick.
