Reinstalled the front sway bar with new bushings and went for another short test drive around the neighborhood. It's been really exciting to watch this car come back together after its hibernation. At this point, the vast majority of the remaining work is purely cosmetic. Ready to update the registration and get it insured, then put some highway miles on it. Maybe I'll even stock up on some spare parts and go on a road trip

Here's the link on the video if you wanna take a listen.

So, after two weeks it was determined to be the Oil Pump.

They lifted the engine to ensure it wasn't the oil pickup gone bad but it was still in place and after testing still worked.

Currently it is waiting on; new spark plugs, new air filter and a new fuel filter.

Current total cost on 2 weeks in the bin - $2500.

Should have it this weekend for the nice weather!

Where did you get that header panel? Looks like it would fit the NA nose.

Between thermofan switches and this thermostat, it seems Wahler's quality has taken a nose dive.
Sunday I reinstalled the thermostat since I had put the shim and seal in wrong. Still no go. I ordered another thermostat and put it in today as soon as it was delivered. The car is cooling great now!

It'll fit, but the headlight covers look dumb. They look dumb on my car too, since I still have the NA ones, as you can see here:

But looking "dumb" is relative, it's only noticeable if you know what you're looking at.

So the 951 has different headlight covers? Huh... seems odd...

The 951 nose panel has a more pronounced "curve forward" shape to it than the NA...which is "straighter". If you drew a straight line towards the front of the car, at the centerline of the PORSCHE badge, the line would be longer on a 951/S2 than on a 944NA.

To accomodate the curve radius the headlight covers had to be adjusted too.

Put the pump and all parts back on and flushed the system with distilled water. Tomorrow is draining and filling coolant system and rechecking timing and balance belt tension. should be fun

Now my 924 with 928 Manual seats. I like how they fit to the car.
The seats need to be refurbished but will do for now.

Registered my S1 931, got the plates today.

I agree I see nothing wrong with the seats. I have Boxter seats in my 85.5 944 and they don't look as nice as those. is it the color or material you don't like?
