What did you do to your 924/944 today

Yes and no, but man, when it just fired right up after sitting dormant for a week? Such a good feeling! Started happier than it had since I bought the car.
Also, it's a huge relief knowing I'm not running on borrowed time w/ old belts/rollers/etc. Braking system is up next for a refresh- might go ahead and rebuild the calipers while I'm at it... Seems like there's a slippery slope here somewhere...

We were talking last night about what life changes would come from even sharing a lottery score like that.
I was fantasizing about half a dozen modest houses/apartments around the world, in my favorite places. Each one gets a Cayman GTS, or 993TT, or other reasonably, relatively modest dreamcar.
And perhaps get back to finishing my private pilot's license and playing in aircraft for a bit.

Getting closer to back on the road.
Finally got the engine running. Main issue was the computer but in the process of diagnosing I replaced almost everything on the outside of the engine plus new brake system, rebuilt the turbo and steering rack, new boost and AFR gauges, Momo Race steering wheel, new throttle cable and lots of other stuff. Today disassembled old hatch and replacement hatch so I can get the best of both installed. Had to drill out some screws, including the ones that hold the hatch pins on. Made it necessary to use an "easy out" on the screws holding them on (that was fun). Taking it off the jack-stands tomorrow and pulling it out of the garage so I can re-finish the floor with epoxy.

Floor Paint
Probably something from Home Depot. We're getting the house ready to put on the market so we can down-size into a townhouse. The good thing is, the townhouse has a very large 2 car garage. Current house doesn't.

Took it in for an alignment since I had replaced both, complete tie rods and also the steering shaft.
What an amazing difference. I knew the tie rods were worn, but didn't realize they were that bad. Old steering shaft had a fair amount of play in it and I could hear it clunking from time to time.
Nice smooth and tight steering now.
