worked on the exhaust this weekend: replaced the O2 sensor (I think it was original), the catalytic converter, and the rusty tailpipe. The car runs & sounds great now!

Started it!!!! After 8 months on the jack stands I finally completed the installation of new belts, rollers and seals and it started quite nicely. (It took that long because I am doing serious house renovations and they have taken priority...)

Went to Bathurst to watch the V8 supercars instead.

Clarks has more info; http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/hvac-01.htm
Look at the pic labeled 'HVAC Unit Left Side' It's the clip that holds the rod that goes between part #4 and #5. GL HTH 'Hope This Helps'? or 'Hotter Than Hell'?
Cheers Dave. Yeah have been through all that and clip is fine. Today HVAC was working perfectly, and tried AC and it was nice and cold. I did give the heater control valve a tap last night, so I am guessing it is culprit. Think I will have to bite the bullet and have a go at fitting the new one. Looks like a PITA job

Same issue. Did some fiddling with the heater control valve, and all was well.
By fiddling, I mean that I unhooked the vac lines, and forced the valve manaully back and forth a few times hoping to free it up. Been fine for the last 4 months.

On topic: Changed the oil, and cleaned the connections on my starter motor while it was on the hoist.

I got some 195/65/15's performance winter tires for my fuchs, I didn't even know that tire category existed lol. Got my spec stage 2 clutch in to replace my failing rubber clutch too, but I have no time to put it in, I'm starting my internship soon and going to school, so I may pay to put it in along with a new master and slave, though I don't have the $$$ for it either. The rubber clutch is a mixed blessing, still runs now but I'm cringing every time i get that bad backlash and "clunk", and I'm praying the trans doesn't drop or pop the ring and pinion or clutch fork

*edited* spelling

Figured out the reason my fuse was blowing any time I turned on the rear defroster! My driver side hatch strut was installed upside down (it's part of the defroster circuit).

Also fixed the little light in the hatch area.

Also performed the reset procedure on my airbag warning light. Dash is light free now!
