What did you do to your 924/944 today

Hey Ian, fwiw get a reasonably serious lump hammer to go at the arches, they're tough. I also flared mine very slightly using the factory jack, a block of wood, and some aluminium sheet to spread the point load out. Little by little did a good job there.
Does need paint in the arches now though...

Charlie,
I used the baseball bat technique the other night, and I am now very close to having enough clearance (only rubbing under hard cornering now). I might need to go back in with a hammer to get the extra few mm's I need, but I will try the bat one more time. It is worth the hassle to have wheels that really fill out the arches.

Hey dropride - with that amount of cracking you'll need to remove the vinyl layer entirely. Use a heat gun to peel the vinyl carefully off the foam underneath. There may be crack in the foam which will need filled. Then paint on several layers of the can-type plasti-dip, sand level, then spray the colour of your choice with a good coat or two of vinyl paint. I did that to one dash - with good results - before finding a perfect stock dash in black. Which has now cracked My next dash is going to be a composite one-piece but that's only going to happen if and when I get the rest of the car up to level.

Installed the new Kenwood deck. I can now listen to the radio AND my iPod. Neither of which I could with the old Sony. It was from the pre-mp3 days and there was no antenna installed in the car.

Finally got the 944 running. All it took was a Vitesse re-flash, new FPR, and new plugs.
Now to slap the plates on it tomorrow and start street tuning.
Also put the new radio in earlier this week... should be able to drive her to the swap meet!

While waiting for parts for my black 86, I finally got my BIG socket set out, and dropped the rear suspension on my cab. Man! those bolts were tight!..It took some oil AND some heat, but it was worth it. The rear dropped nicely, and gives the car a whole new look...Looks fast sitting still now! Also to note, thanks to my impact wrench, or I'd still be fighting those bolts. It would have been very awkward to try and use some kind of breaker bar on them as I was simply using jackstands.
FYI I didn't need to remove the rear sway bar as Clark's garage suggested may be required.

Replaced all the cooling hoses on the fron of the motor, but not the back end heater hose. Refilled and alls running good.
Also fitted a new gear lever rubber mount and clip, to get rib of an annoying rattle at high way speeds.
Step by step I'm getting there
Back to daily driving just a week but I missed it.
