changed Fuel Filter today. I think Arnold Schwartzenegger worked for Porsche in the 80's. Seems like everything I try to remove, i.e., Crankshaft damper nut, Fuel filter nuts are really in solid. Anyhow spent the weekend replacing front crank seals (main one and O ring) and oil pump sleeve, all the belts and idlers. Had to use a 5' piece of pipe to help the breaker bar loosen the crankshaft nut. I think I spend more time cleaning oil and dirt from all the parts under the car than actually replacing/repairing them.

Removed the factory installed, original water pump. Still going strong, but I'm doing belts and rollers and have a rebuilt pump handy so in it goes.

cleaned off the old hood insulation and installed a new set, then installed the batwing under the nose...It was missing when I bought my car.

While under the car I noticed a power steering line leaking and oil line leaking...sigh

Cleaned the cam tower and cam gear covers, filled and sanded the plastic tube from my M-tune setup, sanded my Lindsey hard pipes, and sanded my center caps.

All of these will be getting paint later this evening.

That's a great idea, I may have to do that too! Maybe even paint it red instead of black...

You will be adding to thread for a long time with those cars. Good luck on all of that. I know that is out of my league.

Sometimes I see a 914 and want to jump it. Then I think about 80 hp or something and that after a year and half I am still working on 944 things I decide to soldier on with the 1986.
