Bought a pair of '86 turbo aluminum arms on ebay for ~$80 shipped. The description said solid ball joints, so I'm hoping they are. The currently installed passenger side ball joint has massive play.

Gave it some more clay bar while it was just sitting in the garage. Then after wiping down the liquid for the clay bar. I ended up scratching the paint with my microfiber towel. Threw the towel on the ground, angerly put my car cover back on. And said fck you.
Note to self, just pay a professional.

Last night my 951 fog light assemblies arrived. (one broken lense on drivers side...$#@!# shipping). I got my stock fog light switch working, and found a rats nest of bundled wires behind the front fascia. Spent a while tracing some wires, and WOW found the stock foglight harness, and they WORKED! It was a welcome surprise after the swearing at the broken lense. I had to fabricate my own mounting brackets for the lights as the stock mounts were ???? who knows, and who cares. I got out some aluminum stock and began measuring and fitting, and re fitting. I got the passenger side light hooked up and mounted, and is relatively easy to adjust/aim the light.
Tonight I will mount the other light. I just need some clear packing tape to cover the lense temporarily so I can handle it with out getting cut.
So. Three steps forward and one step back! That is pretty good when working on an older car!

replaced my hood shocks after work, parts were cheap took 1 tool (flat head screwdriver) and like 20mins. and omg what a difference. so nice to be able to lift the hood up and stick your head in there without fear of it falling on you 20 seconds later.
if you have been putting this off put it off no longer! so cheap and easy and man its nice to have good hood shocks.

Completed installing the drivers side fog light, and it all works! While I was cleaning up the connectors, I found a strange looking pair of wires with large loops on them...They look suspicisously like the wires going to my horn...a single horn..no wonder it sounds weird when I hit the horn button. Oh well. On to the next challenge I guess.

New swaybar bushings, installed the engine under tray from my parts car, found 2 of the 6 header/crossover bolts were missing/replaced them, discovered trans mount was toast, and tried to clean some gunk from under the car.
Oh and I touched up some paint chips on the front nose and installed some plugs for front license plate holes.

hmmmm...
well since the last time i checked in (i think i didn't say this last time!) I've pulled the throttle body, intake manifold and crank pulley and drained the coolant and oil and removed the old blowed up optispark
today i removed the alternator, cooling fans and radiator and all hoses, crank balancer hub (...BITCH...), front timing chain cover and crank position sensor, going to begin the reseal soon!

only had high speed on the fresh air blower, so I cleaned the contacts on the resistor pack thingy with a toothpick and some battery acid. It took about 5 minutes and now I have all 4 speeds back!

today I took the brake pads out, surfaced them with sand paper, cleaned the entire braking system, installed pad shims and anti-squeal compound because I got sick of sounding like a UPS truck when I stop.
I also replaced the kick panel under the dash for the fuse box wiring harness, tensioned my timing belt (rather put the timing belt tool on it and realized it doesn't need tensioning because it's well within the range specified with the 920X), swapped out my fake, hollow catalyst for my test pipe to save weight, then took it for a test drive.
Brakes were quiet, sounded like a camry, rather than a UPS truck. stopped at home, cleaned up, allowed the brakes to cool, and they're loud again.
