John Daly - 41 yrs old.

Disc Jockey.

Irishman married to a beautiful American woman. Living 6 months of year in Ireland - 6 months Florida. My First porsche was an 83 944 lux which I painted black ( originally zermatt silver ).
Even though I loved my lux I had the opportunity to buy my present beast in august 2004 - 1989 944 turbo with 422bhp. I't was originally owned and built by Andrew Sweetenham of PromaxMotorsport based in the UK. I'm a member of the porsche club of Ireland and have close friends that own 944 turbo's also.

I find Rennlist to be a great outlet for our passion.

Slainte.

Name: Shawn Hart (I'm Irish)
Age: 20 (almost 21)
Occupation: Fire Protection Business (Restaurant Suppression Systems)
Current Cars: 87 951, 02' Ford Taurus D.D. (converted to SHO status)
Hobbies: Driving, i'm an Artist, Firearms/Shooting, Hockey, Tattoo Design, Skiing, Photography, Music, Hiking, Racing.
Porsche Genesis: Ive always kind of had this strange attraction to sports cars.. I spent my childhood in North Reading, Ma and my neighbor had a silver 968. Had a Camaro in my teens but soon realized it was a piece of junk and i wanted a european car that was a little more exotic and could actually take corners fast. The camaro soon got rear ended and wrecked, a year later i saw my 951 at a dealership, stopped to look at it, drove it, and have been hooked ever since. I love having a car that most 20 year olds dont have, Evo's, STi's, and S4's are a dime a dozen in NH. .
Rennlist: Google'd Porsche forum.. found Heaven.

this is me (on the left):
Needless to say, im enjoying the college life without actually going to college.

ah, cheers fella! heading up to dublin this weekend anyway to check out 2 or 3 cars, might also give him a shout. as for what i'm doing up at such a silly hour? well, as my post said, i'm currently happily unemployed, so i'm enjoying sleeping in until 2 or 3 in the afternoon and spending the evenings doing as little as possible. all that means i have sit about on the internet until 3, 4, or 5am talking rubbish with my yankee friends, browsing websites, and reading The List.

thanks again for the tip!

I'm about to be a professional musician. I'm in a signed band and our album is coming out in April.
Car: 87 951 I had been searching about 6 months for an MR2 Turbo when my gf saw an ad for a low mileage 951. I jumped on here (I knew about rennlist from RX7forums) and did a ton of research. My first sporty car was a Z31 300zx and almost traded it for an 84 944 when I was in highschool. I ended up keeping the Z and later selling it for an 89 RX7. I always had a fondness for the 944's after driving that 84. I will probably get an FD after I start getting royalty checks.
hobbies: cars, computers, and guitars

Name: Travis Brown (of Scottish decent)
Age: 23
Occupation: Real estate appraiser. Hopefully I'll be moving towards RE investing before too long so that I might better afford these expensive hobbies!
Car: '86 951, '87 911, '66 911, '98 Maxima
Hobbies: Cars, video games, movies, the constant quest for knowledge (funny how you suddenly have the urge to learn after leaving school), anything to do with turbochargers, and electronics in general.

A friend's dad gave me a ride in his 924 back when I was about 5 yrs old. The same year I got a die-cast 930 model for a b-day present. Shortly thereafter, I was hooked and doomed to be broke for the rest of my life. Other than my early years, I didn't really have much personal exposure to the Porsche world until I was about 16. A local 914 owner was kind enough to take me for a ride in his well prepped street 914, which really rekindled my interest for the marque. Not long afterwards I bought my first Porsche, a '76 914, which ended up being a lost cause and doomed to be confined to the junkyard. The second Porsche was my '86 951, third is my '66 911 and fourth is my '87 Carrera. Early on and not long after I got my license, as a result of some acquaintences with Supras I was exposed to turbochargers which really astounded me from the slow stuff I was used to (going from 16 sec cars to riding in modded 11 sec ones was a big leap!). At this point in time I still can't get enough of turbochargers and have really developed a liking for the "big" ones. Ultimately I think I am looking for that magical high hp level that will shock me like the first time I rode in a turbo car. I guess the only other thing I can really think to say about myself is that I like to think of myself as a true automotive enthusiast and somewhat of a dying breed at that. I can appreciate anything with a combustion engine and wheels (or some stuff without wheels). I'm the type that prefers a proper manual gearbox, mechanical simplicity, plus a nice and healthy engine note to listen to.

Name: Chris Grobmyer

Age: 28

Occupation: Business Manager of a Saturn store in a large Pittsburgh auto group (started with the VWs and Audis, gimme credit!).

Cars: 86 944, 03 Jetta GLI (Daily Driver), and 06 Triumph Daytona 650

Got my 944 after searching for "some 80s sporty hatchback" when the hand-me-down Sable/Tarus was totalled. Had no idea what I wanted just had a $5000 budget. So I found my money pit under a shade tree on a drive home from work, who knew I could afford the entry price... who knew I couldn't afford the PO shotty maintainence and my ignorance in driving at the time! 18 years old, in college and a Porsche to drive, life was GOOD. I have brought this car back from the depths of hades twice now when others would of given up (NEVER add up the receipts), and it is now mostly my summer heavy track/occasional street fun car.

One of these days it will become a dedicated trackwhore and I'll have something else to play with on the street, and then maybe I'll take the plunge into some club racing and learn how bad of a drive I am all over again.

Pick is my car, Girl, and I at the 06 Fest on our way out for the GimmeRally.

Name: Andrew D. Granieri

Age: 21

Occupation: Student/Burrito King via Qdoba Mexican Grill (Not the best occupation to support a P-Car...)

Non-Porsche Related Hobbies: I enjoy playing the guitar and playing paintball/airsoft. I also like playing video games, even though I should study more. I'm getting better though...

Porsche Genesis: Me and my dad fixed up a 1975 Porsche 914 -- which you can buy from us if you PM for details!! It's the deal of a lifetime! My dad also bought a 1989 Porsche 944 S2 that's immaculate, even now, with a mere 21000 miles to it, very young... And then I bought my Red 86 944 NA, and the world since then has been a better place.

How I found Out About Rennlist: Clark's Garage and my dad. And the 05 944 fest. The little things.

I've always liked 944's since I saw my neighbor's car. He had an old brown 944, but I loved the look so I had to find one. I bought my car on ebay 2 years ago and it has been great.
