Hi, my name is Ilko. I just sold my VW R32 along with all the mods. I was able to get a CPO Audi allroad as a family hauler and just purchased this black beauty with factory LSD and 31K miles on the clock:

My name is Bill Babe and I feel like a Grandfather in this group - aged 53 and Grandfather of 4 in the real world.
I am a Medical practitioner in Perth, Western Australia and own several cars 2003 M-B W211 E320 , 2002 ML 270CDI , 1979 450SEL, 2001 Subaru Impreza, 1938 Ford V8 Deluxe, and of course my 1985 944.
I spanner them all except for what is required for warranty work and have collected a lot of electronic and paper information on all these cars and the 50 or so I have owned in the past.
I have a very fully equipped home workshop including a two pillar car hoist and all cars are garaged. I am attempting to collect computer based diagnostic systems for the newer cars as this will be required in the future to maintain and repair them without using the facilities of main dealers.
The cars of the 70's and 80's are all capable of being maintained at home and are powerful enough and reliable enough to be driven every day.
The reason for moving from M-B to Porsche is disillusionment with where M-B is going in it's models although I love the engineering and ease of spannering.
One of the reasons I live in Australia having emigrated from New Zealand in 1984 is that I originally placed an order for a new 944 in 1982 while living in New Zealand and after several price rises and a Government Law passed which stopped finance on new cars at the time I never completed the order.
Took 24 years to get my 944 - having a lot of fun with it.
Next car is expected to be a Boxter S or Caymen when the E320 is paid off.

Curt Lund
age 66
like toys- guns (especially full auto), airplanes, Corvairs and Subaru`s. Also computers (build or repair-modify), pinball machines, juke boxes, slot machines and any thing else of interest.
Hated Porsche when I was auto X`ing with the Vair!
Needed a new challenge, when a 944 was advertised in the local paper I decided to see what a Porsche was all about.
Lots of work and $ later I am still not sure about this thing, but have only driven it about 20 miles. It does handle very well and I am used to a Saturn
and the Corvair which has a quick steering box (2and 1quarter turns lock to lock). Power seems OK but very high RPM required.

Hello,
Patrick Redman
Location: Haslett MI ( near Lansing)
Occupation: Sales
Turning 30 this week.
I always was a musclecar person in my teens and had a 1969 Merc. Cougar that was pretty fast for a 17 yr old. A friend of mine got an 86 951 and I was hooked. Bought a blk on blk in 1996. Sold it 2 yrs later to get a dumbass sport bike. The years went by and I found a Graphite Metallic 951 W/ 39000 mi. and couldn't resist. Unfortunately, the PO let it sit and didn't do much to it recently, so now it is getting new belts, seals, a/c, and a total brake restoration. Won't be doing any mods until next year.
On the upside, I now have a detailing helper I lacked the first time.

Name: Josh Heath
Age:24
Occupation: Marketing representative for TechTronic Industries, the company that makes Ridgid, Ryobi, and Milwalkee power tools. Also am in school for graphic design.
Hobbies: european/fast cars, girls, scuba diving, aquariums, travel, photograpy, fishing and boating
Porsche history: I have only been into cars since I was 17. But even before that I had seen several Porsches, a 944 and a boxter; and I loved everything about them. At the age of 19 I decided that I wanted something different then most of the commonly seen cars and after research I realized Porsche was the obvious solution.
Rennlist: About two years ago I was always on 968.net since I wanted to get a 968. Ended up getting a 951 instead which led me to find another forum. I had heard of Rennlist on 968.net and have been on here ever since!
