I envy you, selling my 1972 was a thing I regret.

Gosh, this car looked so clean in the original pictures. Have you thought about buying your own rotisserie to do it all at once?

The car was on my rotisserie from late December through early June (and is on one at the paint shop now). Definitely the easy way to go.

Today, it was back to electrical mode, starting with the alternator.
First I pulled the back cover off the alternator. Looks pretty nasty.
Not sure this is even worth testing.

To warm up, I started with the ignition harness. Got some cleaning materials out.
After a bit of labor, I had the harness cleaned and could check it more carefully.
The ambitious part of me wants to replace the full length of the heavy gauge yellow wire that has the spliced bit. So I opened the multi-connector and extracted the pin for that wire.
So that got me to start pulling out all the electrical repair gear. Here's my current kit and supplies. I definitely need the right wire in correct colors.

To be honest, during each phase my confidence goes up and down. Right now I am feeling a bit optimistic about restoring the wiring--let's see how things work out.

I did some more diagnosis today, looking at all the issues I have flagged on the main harness. In a few places, original wires were cut and/or new wires spliced in.
A few other places are missing connectors.
