Interior work is on now. The car is at the Auto trimmers and I will go for a look at some stage and see if they need any clarifications or anything. I passed up the track day on Saturday to give them a good go at it and plan to collect it on the 24th and drive it around the beach for the summer holidays. I'll be cruising Marine Parade with the bogans, low riders, rotary's and ricers - maybe not. After that, back home, continue with the dash restoration and get it ready for the track day in January. Then the Motorsport festival after that. I see you have entered - should be a great weekend.

Stitching is quite bright, will need to dirty that up a bit. Window winder handle is completely out of place now. Will need a new chrome one. Also one thing that is obvious now is that the edges of the Door that are visible outside the door cards are not painted black. That will need doing.

I have a roll of mitred black beading (black rubber) be perfect for trimming off the edge of the door cards in storage you can have next week. Pick up Mt Eden. They were from Sierra madre especially for trimming off RS door cards....

Had the Pirelli P1's fitted up. Maybe a little underwhelming and not exactly what I envisioned. 196-65 are quite tall and skinny but I'll play around with lowering the car to get a bit of mojo back.
I favour a look of slightly tucked, tall skinny wheels and tyres but a low chassis around them. Will also adjust the koni's to soft and this will be the gentlemans mode for road driving.

Hey, thanks for that. To be honest when I saw it with just one door panel on I was mighty concerned but as it all comes together it softens out a bit. Not my first choice with the coarseness of the embossing pattern but with the other plain leather and carpet elements proximal it blends a bit better.

Thanks, yes, I think the dots work particularly well when integrated into other detail elements such as stitching, seams and plain leather. My major worries at the start and the reason for such a large embossing plate was the door panels. I was concerned that plain leather would be too featureless but now I think the most challenging part of the interior is the dots on those panels - quite a heavy slab of them. Anyway, I must wait until it is all together to give an accurate account of what I think of it.
