Momo or 400mm standard refurbed wheel ( I have both )
RS lightweght door cards ( cheaper and lighter)
Absolutlely no radio
6" fuchs all round.
Carpet under front hood ? pity to hide that lovely metal ?
1972 Recaro Sports in leather taken by me from the car in 1990 and now fully refurbished in leather or
Pole Positions in cloth ?
I need heat, so SSIs or standard heat exchangers ?
Rear bumper will be GRP as I want to fit my stainless steel twin out muffler and dont want to cut up a new metal panel. The outlets are not in the centre panel but more to the side.

Advice please.
Lightweight carpets? Yes.
Full glass? Yes
Standard steering wheel.
RS door cards? Yes
Radio delete? Yes, but if you have to fit one go for a retro Becker or similar
6" Fuchs? Yes, with standard satin black or possibly Guards Red centres (depends on how flash you want to be Dave?)
Carpet under hood? Yes, go for the lightweight grey version, will prevent damage to the lovely paint from your suitcase.
1972 sports seats or Recaros? Sports seats, definitely, although I would have preferred to have them re-trimmed in original basket weave vinyl.
SSI or standard exhaust? SSI every time. To be fair the design of the exhaust is the same so go with the better part.
Silencer? We can make a custom 2-in-2-out with the outlets in the centre, no problem.

Anything else?

Would any member have a photo or a link to what Recaro 1972 Sports seats in leather would look like. Maybe Colin could post a photo of my set which were done not for me and we can compare, contrast and then decide ?

72/73 models did not have basket weave inserts ('69-71 I believe).

Should be perforated, Cordury or hounds tooth inserts

I have Cordury in my '72E and going for perforated in my '72S.

Perforated here

Cordury

Hounds tooth - Could tie in well with the slate grey

Forgot to mention last week:

Gearbox is finished and ready to install.

Engine tin ware back from powder coating and fitted. Assembly of ancillary parts is now waiting on a decision to paint or polish the fan shroud and whether to paint the rocker covers and fan assembly. Over to you Major....

Well, we've been putting this off for weeks so finally, on a Friday afternoon, we decided to pull out the wiring and other parts to kick off the rebuild process. It had to be a Friday to give us the weekend to come back to our senses (or get used to the idea of what is to come).

Photos say it all, but at least it's a start.

How much of that gets reused and how much gets rebuilt? Certainly a fresh layer of tape at a minimum???

What is the rational on waiting until reassembly to paint parts going back on? Is it a man power or time issue or is it better to wait and see what is going to get reused before energy is expended on parts that may not make the cut? Or....is there a possibility some parts of off at plating getting new zinc or powder coat that we just don't see in this batch of photos? As always I'm eager to learn.

Or is it that the customer has only recently delivered the parts that we intend to use......?

But obviously you are correct, it is better to plan ahead and batch restore the parts before they are required.

I've decided to name this color "Chocolate Gray!" Looking great guys. I don't envy your re-wiring task.
