I'm not fully clear on the pricing for stuff. I know I'm not capable of tuning my own chip at this point, but I love the idea of having multiple modes operating on "my" chip. For example, I'd probably have one mode that I'll just call "Calif DMV" and another performance mode. One is for operating with a cat, and the other......
The total with shipping for the Multi-board with 911MAX chip image is 310 as you said. Keep in mind the new switches I'm going to use won't be here until next week, so two weeks lead time from now. Where as a chip can ship tomorrow, and you can always upgrade to the multi-board for 50 bucks later, or wait for it, up to you. Same money either way.

I had a long drive with my 15 year old son tonight who is chomping at the bit to drive my car. I told him about the multi board and the rev-limiter. He said he would find the switch. I said that just cost him two more years of walking.....

"Word will get over there, just not much of it will be coming from me."

Then your fans over here need to do some work for you over there now.
That's how it makes it happen!

Loren, as you know your hatred for Steve Wong it what got me to sign up here vs. over there. The first thread I clicked on was a battle royal between the two of you. Well, not so much a mutual battle, but you just trashing everything anyone said. The topic was chips and at that point I didn't know what chips were, but your attitude turned me off quick. I'm sure Performance Products loves you though....I must have spent $4,000-$5,000 with them before I even looked into buying from Pelican.

My question for you is why not join Russell and sell the multi board? Surely guys call you to update DME boards, but don't want to compromise the integrity of the existing board. This thing would allow you to keep the stock board intact. could be a quick $50.00 in it for you, no?

I could set the default map to be the valet map, and if you unplug the switch, there would be no way to get out of the valet map.

On the Maxtronic switch I set the no-start as the default map for easy disabling of the car by simply unplugging the switch.

Russell

I think the chip would be a good fit for either repair/ performance shop, or guys like StrasseUSA, who make a living with hands on customer attention. Pelican is light on tech support, and the tech support on the web board is not always customer friendly. Automotive stuff in general is really slowing down right now. I almost think a parts place will need to be doing repairs and service to stay alive.

Nice! Can an anti-theft feature be similarly incorporated?

Russell, now you're just gonna **** people off with great ideas like that. So much for alarms and guard dogs. Removable switches, who'd a guessed. Next you are going to offer a breath-o-lizer to make sure we are sober.

Yes, I can make the no-start map the default map. You disconnect the switch, car cannot be started. Unless of course your theif is very tech savvy and finds the wires, traces them down, opens the DME, studies the board, ties the appropriate wires together, or installs his own switch...

I'd think by then you'd be done with dinner and standing over him with a baseball bat resting gently on his shoulder asking
"what's up there bud?"
