My local shop has a PIWIS so I just asked them to do it. There are also some China versions you can purchase online for a lot less.

Another great feature for Boxster owners, Open or close the Convertible top with the remote key.

I took a printout of the settings shown in post 43 for turning on the dash lights (via the white dial settings) to the dealer when I was getting my first year "free" service.. Both a junior and a senior tech took a crack at it but said they see no such setting in my '22 GT4
They even had me bring it back in for a second attempt so I'm pretty sure they really were trying.
Any ideas why the couldn't find it?

It is likely Dealer version Piwis do not have Engineering mode.

Like @rnlst_log said, they need to be in Engineering Mode. I just looked up the settings from 2021 GT4 and they were there. After they go to Manual Coding without coding rules, they need to select this option to code. I have successfully coded both 2018 and 2022 Boxster with the same settings

Anyone know if the Launch X431 bi-directional tools have an analog of engineering mode? I know people are using them to code with, but don't know if the X431 can access all of the stuff that needs Engineering mode in PIWIS.

Thankyou 718socal, .... for helping me achieve this feature on my BGTS 4.0!! . Now I can operate the roof from the outside remotely with my key. To open, unlock car then press and hold unlock again until roof is open, To close, lock car then press and hold lock button until roof and windows are closed. With "entry & drive" the roof can also be closed by pressing the doorhandles.

Great 👍. Of course I could have not done this without the help of @rnlst_log . Enjoy

Great work @718socal !

For those of us with a Spyder, this should allow you to latch the top closed from the outside once you have the roof properly positioned at the windshield.

Is there a way to make the interior console buttons that control the top single press as opposed to hold?

also, is there anyway to enable vim through piwis?

Now you can try to code your car with this. FYI you can’t have the coding for Windows UP/DOWN from the remote. They are mutually exclusive. It’s one or the other 🥲

I have that on my truck, it can be very handy! I suspect that this would be a no-go on my 6MT Spyder.
