Ill keep mine longer than that and drive it as much as I can!

Just made a contract with my dealer, provide me with first allocation they get on 30k ADM, Q4 delivery.I think they may be thinking the msrp will be just too high for customer to take it.

Or they just mistakenly thinking it will be the 9a2evo with 450hp and same gearing as GT4, which is not attractive enough.

Aha, u are right, I just want to provide an information that it seems as far as some dealers estimate, they don't think they can charge crazy ADM like the GT3 dose.I think 30K is the price for the "first" , but one can get it at MSRP for the second. It's a much softer market.
I really like the 4rs, want to drive it and keep it, but don't like the bidding game they play.

I recall back in the 90's when I was working on getting my fist Boxster that the dealer told me they couldn't markup cars sold straight through because Porsche looked unkindly on that and would dock future allocations, I guess that's no longer the case. I'm searching for a place to get an allocation now but have been told by virtually everyone I've contacted that their lists are so long they're no longer taking names.

True, but I think it varies a lot from dealer to dealer.

100% true

There is a local dealer who never charges adm, but then their wait lsts are extra long.

If this is actually true, then I'm out of luck on the car. I've had my name on the list for a long time and have bought a GT3 from the same dealership; the best I can do is 10K-15K over.

Absolutely , maybe a manual SpyderRS can be more attractive.

I just want to bump up this thread since it is after the reveal of the GT4 RS. Has anyone got a confirmed allocation or a promised build slot?
I have received an update from a dealer I work with, they stated that the bid for the first GT4 RS slot has gone over 150K (location: PNW).

I have noticed another very interesting phenomenon that the GT4 RS gained a lot more interest in the US over the 992 GT3 (my observation). Whilst in China, 992 GT3 is not sold but Porsche China premiered the GT4 RS on 11/17/2021. The Chinese market did not react as crazy as the US because many people think that the 718 in general (regardless it's GT4 RS, starting from ¥ 1,578,000, about 247k USD) is the "lesser" car and would rather have a base Carerra (starting from ¥ 1,278,000, about 200k USD).

So I went ahead and got the first slot for the GT4 RS from the biggest dealer at MSRP. I may fly back to Shanghai several times a year just for track days lol.

The GM for my dealer is playing cagey...hasn't set ADM yet for 4rs; waiting to see what market does first. Makes sense.
