I was an original order met/purchase of a 981 GT4 and I for sure didn't receive a call. Wish I would though.

The 3 first spots on the list (which includes myself) are people that will track the 4RS
Sounds like we are working with a good dealer.

I was at my dealer today and they confirmed that Porsche completely cut them out of the first allocations and have been contacting 918 owners directly. They don’t expect to get the initial allocations they were anticipating. Sounds like maybe normal people with good dealer relationships might have a shot toward the back end of the build era.

I just heard the same from my dealer. 100% of the first year production is already reserved for 918 buyers. Maybe I can order one in 12 months. Maybe.

300 of 918 model 918's produced came to the USA. They reportedly are getting 100% of the US allocations in 2022. I think that also happened with the 911R. But that was a limited production model. Does it make sense that Porsche will only send 300 GT4 RS to US in 2022? By comparison they built 4880 991.2 GT3 RS for global customers. This can't be just Covid supply chain issues. Are they creating drama by deliberately constricting supply?

Only the VIPs that held on to their 918s for X years still qualify for this program. All of the ones that sold theirs before that time no longer qualify. Therefore there are a lot less.

They only made ~700-750 regular 718 GT4S for the US annually for the 2020 and 2021 model years. (2022 model year production of regular GT4 TBD, but it looks to be even lower.) So ~300 GT4 RS units for the US annually sounds about right in that context...

Several members have heard Canada will be getting around 200 cars total. My dealer mentioned the same number and said it's about 50% of the number of 992 GT3 allocations (so ~400 for Canada total).

If true, you can expect the US to receive ~1,800 cars over the production life (2 years?).

As for VIP 918 program, I've been told it only applies to new limited edition cars (ie. Speedster), which the GT4 RS is not. Naturally, 918 owners are often very good customers and will be granted allocations even if the program does not formally mandate it.

That scenario would mean that US GT4RS allocations would exceed the allocations rate of the regular 718 GT4 for the US.

I'm not saying that's an implausible scenario. But does that seem likely?

My dealer made it clear today (I don’t think they have reason to BS me) that the program does apply to the 4RS and they aren’t happy about it.

You are forgetting that the pandemic did in the GT4 production with its resulting effects on the supply chain. People are hoping its on a downward trend, that things will improve. The result could be exactly that; more RSs than base.

I am the one that rely that news. 200 cars for Canada one the 2 year production period.

Traditionally USA gets 10x the number of Canada, which puts US allocations at 2000 cars over 2 years.

Out of the initial '300' 918 VIPs, well they didn't start off with 300 in the first place. Many have bought multiple 918s so the actual number was closer to 280. Of those many have since sold their cars. They needed to hold onto the 918 for 3 years to get the full 10 years of VIP program. Also, some have been kicked out because of abuse. The total 'VIPs' number dramatically drops to below 200. I believe at last count the program only have ~160 customers left, closer to 150 than 160.

Per the VIP program, each 918 VIP is entitled to one car per model. For limited number cars it goes by seniority, as in how early they had ordered the 918. While PCNA is servicing the 918 VIPs first, it only amounts to ~150 cars. small fraction of the total production. Those should be quickly settled soon and the allocations will flow to dealers to be handed out.
