Only running with the sun shade has been discussed quite often. Several members on here came from Gen 1 Spyders and this is essentially the same.
You will rarely put the weather protector on unless you are going long distance x-country or know you'll be exposed to significant prolonged rain.
The cut roof-line look and the experience with the back open will be one of the best features of the Spyder RS. Many were hoping for this during the run-up to reveal.

(987.2 Spyder owner who was on the SRS waiting list for +/- 1 year before it was announce, it was a very pleasant surprise)
I only put up the weather protector when washing the car

Harris needs to stay out of it until I've gotten an allocation secured! 
Don't need his accolades driving the demand / ADMs up! sigh

The more I read about this Spyder RS, the more I like it. I saw the Seen Through Glass review, and while he really liked it, he preferred his GT3 just a touch more. I may contact my dealer about what ADM games are afoot.
