As for power delivery, linear is a good thing on the street as well, it has more torque then the 9A2 engine even at lower RPM, so to me it is a winner in the 718 chassis.
I like the engine on track, less so on the road.

991.2 3RS is exciting in every way.

Regarding excitement, you do realize this is a thread about the Spyder RS, not the GT3 RS.

And that statement makes no sense. The engine is every bit as strong and the short gearing in the PDK...how is the 3rs "more exciting?" Convertible and music boxes. Unless you're just excited to be in a 3rs.

Okay, I rewatched the Farrah review...it's solid.

yep. 2 ways sit lower and are much lighter than 18 ways. 2 ways seats are only 8lbs heavier than LWB for the set.

I will seriously consider finding a set of those 2 ways for my SRS. I’d like to sit lower and be lighter, yet not do LWB as my back can’t handle LWB.

3RS had essentially same engine as SRS/4RS, but with a different sound and more mid-rev punch.

8lbs is nothing. Heated 2ways are THE seats for a backroads roadster.

All these ‘little’ compromises (no manual, no heated 2ways, no heated steering wheel, no auto top, and the not so little $100k+ premium) vs BGTS 4.0 add up quickly, putting enormous pressure on the SRS’s GT3 4.0 engine to compensate. You can get heated AND ventilated 2ways in the BGTS if you want the full spoils.

I think you are right, just get the BGTS, much better value and besides Manifold said the GT3 engine is not very exciting anyways, lacks torque too...

I know. 20yrs from now when car production gets banned (except for a few thousand EVs per year) which will be more prized, attractive, even rare? Manual Boxster 4.0 with heated 2ways, heated steering wheel, and auto top or a HEAVIER PDK Spyder 4.0 with cold buckets, cold steering wheel, and manual top?

Yeah, because every classic car before us has had heated steering wheels, heated seats and an auto top.... honestly, imagine cross shopping an SRS with a Boxster

Spyder is a Boxster. You’re shopping for the perfect backroads roadster.

It’s a 911. There are many 911s that are better backroads cars than the gt3rs.

Ya don't say... my point was an SRS is not a Boxster. Ones a hairdressers car, the other is a roofless/wingless version of the most potent mid engined street car Porsche has ever built - the GT4RS.

Nothing wrong with hairdressers, they’re cool people. Many of them would pick a PDK SRS over a manual Boxster.

Nowadays plenty of hairdressers like to play with their cute hands around a manual stick while they're pushing hard their 12cm heel inside into a soft soft clutch...
