So I got an update from my SA...

Unfortunately it looks like I won't be seeing the car anytime soon. It's stuck in production and the anticipated date is 10.09 as of now.

This means that they probably ran out of parts and it's going to sit there during the august break (how is this not planned better is beyond me??).

My contract has a deadline of 31.08 but they can extend it to 30.09. If it takes longer than that I will opt out because I would have no use for this car until maybe April next year.

This is also not the first bad news I got today, what a day :E

Bummer. So sorry. It’s strange times for supply chains right now.

I’m sorry to hear things aren’t going the best.

fwiw, I’ve spent a fair amount of time in manufacturing… there is no amount of planning that can prevent all supplier-induced production delays. Much of the time you can offset with multiple sourcing options, safety stock, and/or production routing deviations…. but sometimes you can’t.

Sorry to hear about your bad news. If you really want the car you shouldn’t opt out, as getting another allocation will be tough. Your dream car sitting in the garage for a few months is nothing compared to the wait some RL members have waiting for their con rod affected cars to be fixed.

Well dammit. I just got the news of the 6 week knock back. Car went into the body shop on 7/19 and it appears it will be there through the shutdown. As everyone speculated, probably missing parts to complete the job. I will hound my SA next week just to confirm that it did or did not complete by the end of this week. Right now it says will exit the Body shop on 9/10 and Dealer inventory 10/22.

Man, that’s a bummer flynlo. Maybe it’s for the better since the mechanics should be recharged after vacay and do a better job…

If it’s a MY22 then dates likely reflect Porsche On-Sale date and/or estimated EPA release.

Last year my 2021 exited production on 16 Sept and was in Houston on 16 Oct.

The retail sale date was 4 Dec.

EPA cert happened mid Nov and cars were immediately released for sale…well except CARB states.

Mine sat in port little over a month.

PSVMS dates usually update on Friday, if it’s a retail sale date all cars will have the same V code retail date.

GTS still pending but it should go V250 soon…

Great to hear! I confirmed with my SA I have the same production date. I bet we'll roll down the line together

Same September date as mine, probably no coincidence.

Serves us right for configuring in all the electronics

This is very interesting, the whole EPA/CARB issue. It's odd that they have to recertify every model year even if there are no changes. Hopefully that means a quicker process. My V260 is not until 11/5 with Dealer Inventory V900 Expected 12/17, so hopefully that will be a real date, if not sooner. I suspect you folks will all get your cars in Oct, maybe earlier. Enjoy that fall foliage if applicable to your geographic area.

@flynlo didn’t we have similar delivery times? Mine was 9/17 originally but SA is saying 9/18-10/1 is more realistic. Did you receive a VIN?
