How can your “deliver date” get pushed back if you don’t have an allocation?

Need an allocation to get a build date.

Either your dealer doesn’t have an allocation or you’re not the highest priority.

Sorry...without an allocation your dealer is simply guessing. He is guessing when he will have an allocation for you and then projecting an estimated timeline. But in the end, it is a WAG(Wild *** Guess).

Because the dealer knows when they will get allocations. When I ordered, they had no allocations. They budget on getting x allocations per quarter.

I just get the feeling that I am being pushed down the list for more important customers. Is this possible in the Porsche system?

There are no allocations available in Oz. I called many dealers in April and yesterday again. In Oz dealers can also only sell to customers in their area, so for example, I can't buy from a dealer in state 2 if I live in state 1.

Don’t know if this is a rhetorical question, but yes happens all the time. The dealer owns the allocation.

Calling dealers on in demand GT car will often get a “we don’t have anything”…they’re working their customers and lists.

Simply ask your dealer where you are on the list. If you’re next ask them to place a demand order.

I was in a similar situation where my SA told me I had an order in place and the date kept being pushed out. It wasn't untilI started reading this forum that I realized what an "allocation" is and that I was simply on a waiting list. My SA never bothered to give me such details. I felt like a chump. So I called other dealers, got lucky on my third try (felt like I won the lottery), and now I have an allocation with a November build date. I would move on from your dealer if at all possible or at least try other dealers.

BTW, I have learned more from the members on this forum than from most Porsche SA's and I am thankful for that! If it wan't for this forum, I would still be sitting around thinking I had an allocation.

They don’t know when they will get an allocation. Dealers can estimate or budget allocations but Porsche has been sending out fewer allocations than dealers have been expecting.

Even if they know how many allocations they are getting, dealers have lists of waiting customers and those lists are full of customers that are on wait lists at multiple dealers. So the number of cars and customers is unknown.

I’ll answer for him. This tracking is only unfortunately available in Canada and his V2 (Version 2) refers to his second go at it, as he walked away from his con rod affected Version one and re-ordered.

Bummer on the tracking… had “Track Your Dream” on the last one that kept me from bothering my SA.

The dealers do know when to expect allocations.
However, they have no idea of how many they will get or for what vehicles.

The last two quarters the local dealer got exactly one CGTS and one BGTS allocation. And maybe 3 or 4 GT4 and Spyder allocations. Allocations for 911 variants are also way down from 'normal'.
