FWIW, I've also been told by my SA that '22's may not be not be released for sale until October due to EPA certification.
It's always difficult to separate fact from fiction. I suspect that the switchover from 2021 to 2022 model year was a moving target. My SA told me way back in April that it was likely going to be a mid-June switchover. My GT4 (MY 2022) is somewhere between the Halifax Autoport and Ontario, having exited the factory 06 July and having arrived in Canada 19 July. So, somewhere late June or early July the switchover actually occurred.

Can't comment on the 2022 EPA statement other than to say my SA sees no impediment to delivering my car to me in the next couple of weeks, but that's here in Canada, so the EPA issue may be US-specific.

Lol!!! Gotcha! Well it could be anything. One more here in the US: it seems that there may be a delay delivering 2022 cars due to carbon emission certifications, so everyone’s 2022 car may be held up until October.

Apparently not, Dealer Inventory date moved OUT *3 weeks* from 9/10 to 10/1.

Is there a CARB cert delay on '22s? This is what my SA suggested, but it seemed like just speculation. Or maybe this is related to rail shipping logistics?
Dealer Inventory date on new MY cars is almost always tied to EPA Cert.

Every MY gets a new cert.

MY21 for 992s took around 5 months and for 718s took a couple.

If you live in one of the 12 Carb states, add couple of weeks.

Cars sit in port until certified.

This is very common to happen.

Oh lord! Well, that's making my Dec planned delivery date not seem too bad.

That is a long wait for sure, but as someone else here wrote, take comfort that you snagged an allocation!

So I was not happy my dates were pushed back until after the August break, but now I am thinking it’s better not to have the car sitting at port for months. Maybe I’ll make another change to push it back further, lol.

I've also heard that sometimes the certifications complete early and the release date can be brought up...not always, but I've read a few forum posts about them in similar no YoY changes or anything like that. GL and keep us posted.

My GT4’s Dealer Inventory date was also moved back, from 9/17 to 10/1. I think CARB certification is the reason.

Default 2022 Spyder Build

Have a model year 2022 Spyder build. Dates as follows:

V200 Order fixed 7/1/2021
V260 Enter Body Shop 7/16/2021
V300 Vehicle Complete 7/23/2021
V331 Entry Port Emden 7/30/2021
V332 Exit Port Emden 8/13/2021
V000 Entry and Exit Davisville 9/3/2021
V900 Dealer Inventory 10/1/2021

Looks like my Spyder will sit at the port for a month? Informed by dealer that they are not allowed to deliver the 2022 model until October 2021.

Debated a while about buckets vs comfy seats, buckets for resale, sofa seats for comfort. Heated seats and heated steering wheel extends the range of seasonal use in the northeast. Also, my wife does not like the buckets. Plan to keep this car as a 3 season driver. So, ordered the sofa heated seats.

I have not heard anything. The only update my SA had yesterday was that my car was “released for transport”. Mine also arrived July 19. Ours should be on the same train I would think? Mine is MY2021. Probably one of the last ones.

That's good to hear, I take consolation now in my October delivery...I guess I'll just have to sit in the garage over the wintertime and fast and furious shift LOL.

Yeah, being first would have been nice, but this delay makes it meaningless. At least your info on EPA cert is consistent.

Wow your car was on the fast track! 13 days from factory to port in Canada!

Fingers crossed. I was hoping to get the car before the weather turns cool here in AZ so I can get to work on the break-in miles and be ready for the track!
