This is the first time that I sold my sports car ahead of the new one coming in. It’s torture not having a sports car for the summer, and now that my dates were moved back until after the August hiatus, I may not get it until October. I am trying so hard to resist buying a temporary sports car, but also thinking of renting something. Does anybody have experience renting sports cars? What company?

Probably just waiting for another ship to unload, won't be long now!

That's a great link, thank you. The Eastern Passage Halifax Autoport piers have been clear throughout, but it appears as if they are just waiting for the pilot boat to be assigned. It was a relatively busy day (for a Saturday!) yesterday with tanker and container ship traffic arriving and departing and I guess the Siem Cicero didn't have priority. Being ex-Halifax-based Navy, I know the harbour rhythm pretty well.
I guess that they're allowed to relax a bit on Sundays. Your link shows assignment of the pilot boat for 0430 tomorrow (Monday) morning. Something to watch over coffee here in Ontario tomorrow, I guess.
Thanks again.

I sold my base ‘16 Cayman when my CGTS4.0 reached the port. Then the stop/sale postponed delivery from March to between August and October. So I bought a 2016 CGTS from the same dealer. Wish I hadn’t. It will be an expensive decision. But I think you and I are in different places. You lack a sports car. I lacked a car. Renting anything right now is going to be incredibly expensive. Depending on your city, Porsche has car subscription services as short as three months. You may want to look into.
Part of the issue is that I am super excited to get this car. I wasn’t this excited waiting for my 992. From everything that I’ve read and watched, this Boxster is going to be in the sweet spot for me.

Yea, now that I read my post, it’s pretty much comes off as a whine. I just want the wait to be over. I looked at Turo and saw some Boxsters for rent - might do that.

We all love our P-cars. That's why we are all waiting in breathless anticipation of Ro-Ro's arriving in port and obsessively hitting the refresh buttons on our collective browsers!

Just spoke with my SA who told me that there is no more 718 GT4 and GTS production until 2022. It was essentially a mid-engine thing so 992 and others are all fine. Is he bSing me or what

I know they shut the lines down for the month of August. Maybe they start prepping for the 2022 model year when they come back?

No more actual production? Like building the cars? No. That's not right based on people posting build dates of sep, oct & Nov. Maybe no more allocations?

My second mid-life crisis is finally official after receiving an allocation (V200) for a CGTS yesterday. Delivery day is Jan 07, 2022. Insert emphatic moonwalk emoji here.

Wow, Jan 7 and you went V200 yesterday? What's the expected build date? Lock date? I would have expected it to be a little sooner than Jan, maybe Nov or Dec.

Yes... There were 2 people ahead of me on the wait list, but I do not know what their delivery dates are. My lock date is Oct 22, expected "entry to body shop" is Nov 05. It's a bit later than what I initially expected as well.
