When I had the oll changed the other day we discussed the use of 5/50 at the shop, including a former Porsche-certified tech, and he said that many who track their cars use 5/50. I do not track mine but as I said my car stays in a hot climate so while it may not be Porsche-approved I am ok with it. Besides, my headers, exhaust and tune are not Porsche-approved either so the warranty is already gone.

I'm with you. I just posted that because I was unfamiliar with what C40 meant so I searched and found that doc. I'm considering trying 5-50 just to quiet down my chirping sewing machine that is normal.

As I said, it worked wonders on my Targa GTS and since viscosity decreases over time it will only get closer to 0/40 by the time it needs to be changed. You can read about it here: https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants/...viscosity-oils
Swapped my 2022 GTS 4.0 for a 2021 Spyder and holy hell, went from no chirping sound at all to something quite loud! In my case, it gets quite loud at higher rpm’s, first time I heard it, I legit thought there must have been crickets on the side of the road or something

I call this 'GT magic'. All the not that nice sounds that as a whole make the car have a soul. The GT4 rear wing starts to whistle over 110mph. GT Magic.

GT3 engines don't chirp, so whatever the magic, it's not GT.
I know what you’re getting at. You think the only GT cars have the numbers 2 and 3.
But one could also argue that parts on a GT car make them GT parts.
Numbers have nothing to do with it. GTS (not a Motorsport car) has the same (non Motorsport) GT4 engine. GT4 RS has the (Motorsport) GT3 engine. Facts.
I mean you're both technically right. The GT3 engine is the GT motorsport engine, however the GT4 engine is still a product of the GT department. They both make noises, though I'm glad my MY23 GT4 does not make the chirping noises mentioned in this thread.
