Has anyone plugged the vacuum line instead of a valve controller or collar mod? I feel that I would want the exhaust in loud mode all time.
All three options allow one to run the system fully open all the time. Save your money on a valve controller and go with one of the other two options if this is your plan.

Smart move. I got the valve controller and just leave it open all the time. If I had to do it over again, I would do the collar mod. The beauty of this exhaust system is it is very livable in no/low load situations. And it comes to life under load. So no real need to modulate it.

I agree with you. I’ve got a valve controller on my BMW M2 and I leave it open all the time and that’s with an M-Performance exhaust that can get a little boomy as well. I don’t mind it at all. I’m planning on trying the collar mod but setting the collars up so they leave the valves open all the time around 30% to 40% and then let PSE take over as it normally operates. I found part numbers for the the stainless steel collars on here and received them from McMaster the other day. Very nice quality. Does anyone know if there are any negative affects by running the valves partially open with the collars? Just want to make sure I am not going to sacrifice performance or ruin something with the valves by leaving them partially open all the time.

Agreed -- under low load situations, it isn't gonna wake the neighbors up with the valves open (or partially open). Happy I didn't go with a valve controller, collars have been treating me well!
Depending on where you are in the rev range, it is probably ~10-20% louder than stock 981 PSE. I was worried it was gonna be too loud as my primary motivator was a change in tone, but it's a good level. Genuinely OEM+ sound. I do not think this will be "too loud" for any buyer in the market for a gt4/spyder.

Revving does this exhaust no justice though. The build up from 4000rpm on up is absolutely delightful. You don't evem have to be wide open to appreciate it, either. What a great modification!
I got mine installed this weekend and really impressed. The car totally rips now. I went the SS route with optional shielding and it sounds pretty awesome to me. Very impressed all around with Kline’s fit and finish. This exhaust really brings the best out of these cars and is a significant transformation. Not a cheap mod but well worth it.
For anyone interested in seeing the Kline with shielding here are a few pics. Kline’s attention to detail attaching the shielding to the OAPs is really impressive. I know there’s a big debate on whether or not these cars need shielding so I won’t go there. I chose the shielding as much for how cool it looks in addition to the slightly cooler temps but I get it, it’s not needed. The shielding also looks pretty slick peeking through the wheels, especially with Kline’s subtle logo on the OAP ;-)
Thanks again Eric @SupremePower for all the help and suggestions. Amazed at what a perfect transaction this was :-)
it is a work of art for the eyes and ears…. too bad it doesn’t stay looking that nice, I almost polished mine when I swapped cars but realized that would be next level silly lol
