How rare are these cars?

VIN analytics; they have a new data source, but they only provide the colour and country for free now, and charge for other option data. That’s why I have question marks for other options on cars that hadn’t been looked up before the old source went away. They look up cars on demand when you request a VIN, and sometimes the first lookup times out, and you need the look up the same VIN again to get data, but I’m finding there are actually no gaps in the VIN sequence.
Great info though; thanks for the effort.
Thoughts on us putting all the disparate databases up top on a sticky?

Define "rare". Compared to the average mass-produced vehicle on the road I would think it could be called rare - most here do not see what they drive unless they go to an event so they are far from ordinary.

Definitely regional to. Not a lot of Porsches around my area period. If you see one, it’s usually a Macan, Cayenne, Boxster, 911 and then Cayman of all types in roughly that order. I have yet to see another 718 4.0 of any variety on the road yet. This is truck and mommy wagon/SUV country.

So who has seen another 718 Spyder or GT4 on the road, in the wild? Not at a dealership, car show, meet, track event, etc. I have yet to see one in 18 months of Spyder ownership. Saw one 981 Spyder last summer in front of me at a light. I was in my Macan at the time, however.

None. Not that I have noticed anyway. I live in a reasonably affluent area, but tbh, I just don’t drive much anymore (working from home).

While this is a regular production run car, the pandemic and the ‘21 recall have definitely reduced the total number produced drastically

Looking at the spreadsheets above, it looks like around or under 2000 spyders delivered to NA for the 718 model. If that's true it's funny to me this is even a conversation because while these may not be numbered or "limited edition", if Porsche released any special model limited to 2,000 numbered examples, people would jump all over it. Might be wrong but feels right.
In Dallas, I've seen only one other Spyder but several, maybe 5-6, GT4s

...time will tell, and definitely not going to wish away time...it will get here soon enough.

I am rooting for this to happen. By March of 2023, I'll have had a diverse experience with 718 product, and would love to have the window wo spec one last 'ICE dream' in my 'forever car' configuration.
